12. The following are considered legal appeal plays: a. R1, who legally left first base on a fly ball that is caught, is doubled off first when F6 throws to F3 standing on first base before R1 retouches her original base. b. On a play at the plate, F2 dives

and tags sliding R1, who slid by the plate without touching it. c. When F2 formally requests help on B1’s checked swing. d. Batting out of order. e. A defensive team coach asks the calling umpire to get help after a no-catch call.

13. A legal appeal play occurs when: a. A fielder in possession of the ball inadvertently steps on a base that a runner missed while advancing. b. A fielder tags a runner off base when she makes an attempt to advance after overrunning first base. c. The base umpire agrees to confer with the plate umpire regarding a disputed call at first base.d.
