Unplanned urbanizationcould lead to unhealthyconditions, andaffect

the quality of life. Physical infrastructure, education, social services,

and local governance strongly influencepeople's well-being. Theaim is to

createahealthier environment byaddressing socialand environmental

determinants of health.

THE SILENT PROFESSIONALS

Philippines is divided politically, religiously,

geographically. We have so many intellectuals who onlycriticize and point finger but none are willing to venture

into the mud and get their hands dirty. Institutional

corruptions and breakdowns of systems, palakasan,padrinos are the so called cancers in our society.

THE SILENT PROFESSIONALS

Only a paradigm shift can correct the status quo and it

never happens unless teachers are properly trained andinformed on this great noble effort. Therefore, the

teachers, the silent professionals, will charge the nation not

just into the 21st

century and beyond but also into a societythat is fair and just to every Filipino people.

CHINESE ANECDOTE

The wordcrisis is writtenasacombination of two characters: first is

thecharacter for dangerand second one for opportunity. As educators,

we should look beyond the swirlingchaos of this global economiccrisis,

but instead recognize the opportunity thatmayawaitas soonas the

dust settles.
