DEFINITION of 'Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa.’

The BRICS thesis posits that China and India will, by 2050, become the world's dominant suppliers of manufactured goods and services, respectively.

While Brazil and Russia will become similarly dominant as suppliers of raw materials.

Due to lower labor and production costs, many companies also cite BRICS as a source of foreign expansion opportunity, and promising economies in which to invest.

Conclusion Globalization involves the diffusion of ideas, practices and

technologies and the increase of worldwide social relations which link distant localities, significantly impacting on the economic, social, cultural and political dimensions of nations and its peoples.

The recent recession has seen corporations and institutions from developed nations moving their focus to developing countries, particularly in the East.

Cheap labor, relaxed industrial norms and the capacity to shift base at short notice to countries with more favorable policies have all significantly impacted on economic globalization.

Multinational corporations have shifted power away from the nation state with their 'brand' globalization.
