Scrap bookingexperience with my participant, Samuel

My experience…. ImeldaHof is an agency that

provides care for children that are not only without parents, but mostly for those that their home environment is not a safe place for them. They focus on working and guiding these children. They are currently housing 57 children the youngest being 6 and the oldest being 14. Most of the children get the opportunity to visit with their families during the weekends. What they do at Imeldahof takes great passion and courage and patience.

My experience….• Scrap booking ….At Imeldahof they already know

the concept of scrap booking and the children we worked with find it lovely to do. At imeldahof they also make use of the scrapbooks to help the chilldren over come their problems and it hels them to express themselves in a much simpler manner. They use it to help the child cope with the issues they might be having and according to ms Natalia it does help.

what My target groupie Samuel is like…

• Working with a 14 year old boy named Samuel.

• How Samuel behaved at our first encounter

• How he behaved the second time around.

Samuel a Character on his own• Working with Samuel was

challenging at first because he is a boy and most of the scrapbook material were for girls.

• At our first encounter I asked him what sports he liked, his favorite cartoon and so on. So I decided to print up pictures of all that he had mentioned in order to make him feel comfortable and also not left out. He is a very creative boy who if you just take the time to understand him a bit he will warm up to you and behave properly. Scrap booking helped mi understand Samuel better that just by asking him questions..
