5 Concepts

1. Stereotype (Chapter 7) During the ENBE class, the lecturer (character 1) had brief the students about their final project. The lecturer had divided the students randomly and each group had 4 people. (character 2) had been divided into our group. We (character 3) felt lucky and excited because we all think that Jeol is a smart, hardworking and capable student, although, none of us had been work with him before. (character 4) also divided in the group.

2. Attitude Formation – Explicit Attitudes (Chapter 5) Since (character 3, 4) were stereotyping the characteristic of (character 1). They’ll treat him good because of what they heard and see. (character 4).

3. Social Loafing (Chapter 1) The work had been divided to each group member. We felt that group assignment was more relax when compare to individual assignment because we only need to do a part of the work.

4. Confirmation Bias (Chapter 4) Student B thinks that Joel is lazy and not capable. Then, B decided to find the evidence to proof that his hypothesis about Joel is true.

5. Impression Management – Ingratiation (Chapter 2) To get a higher mark for the group assignment, the group started to ingratiate themselves to the lecturer (character 1) by flattering and brought drinks to the lecturer during tutorial section.

At last, our group got the highest mark in the class for this final project. Everyone in the group felt happy and satisfy with it.
