The term social refers to a characteristic of living organisms as applied to populations of humans
and other animals.

It always refers to the interaction of organisms with other organisms and to
their collective co-existence, irrespective of whether they are aware of it or not, and irrespective of whether the interaction is
voluntary or involuntary

is the scientific study of human social behavior and its origins, development,
organizations, and institutions

It is a social science which uses various methods of empirical investigation and
critical analysis to develop a body of knowledge about human social actions,
social structure and functions

A goal for many sociologists is to conduct research which may be applied directly to
social policy and welfare, while others focus primarily on refining the theoretical
understanding of social processes

Social perception is a body of knowledge as is perceived and understood by an individual about himself as a member of the group to which he belongs, his understanding about the other members of the same group as
well as his understanding about other similar groups and its members

ability to create an impression or judgment of other individuals or social groups

and process available information associated with creatures of the same species
