An 18-year-old Rutgers University student named Tyler Clementi committed suicide in September of 2010. After discovering that his romantic encounters with another man had been exposed via webcam by his roommate, he took his own life by jumping off of the George Washington Bridge.

The general principle of Tyler Clementi’s case is that he killed himself because he could not handle the embarrassment and exposure of his privacy. Many individuals who are cyber bullied, feel as if there is no escape and the only way out is death.
