Wall of Barrels, Iron Curtain, Rue Visconti, Paris 1962

In protest to the Berlin Wall, 240 oil barrels were stacked to block the most narrow, one-way street in Paris. This street was the only street connecting 2 towns – no one could pass.

What you’ll do:● Decide if you’re going to work alone or with a partner.

● Brainstorm a list of 10 social issues you could create an installation sculpture for.

● For each issue, list 2-3 possible locations your sculpture could be installed.

● NOTE: You may not actually be able to install your sculpture, however, if it’s something you would like to pursue we can work together to see if it is possible. Review list and complete Worksheet #2: 4 best ideas.

Page 28: Social Message Tape Sculpture

● Find reference images that will help you draw and sculpt your best idea.
