3) Understand Your AudienceYou must have a target audience in mind. Who will read your tweets? What do I want these people to do?Why am I on Twitter in the first place? Before tweeting, always ask: Will my followers like this and retweet it? The more targeted and narrow you can be in defining your audience, the better.@JuliaCSocial #TweetEC @EnterpriseCtr

4) Choose a Primary GoalSample goals include:Thought leadership/influenceBuilding trust with customersBuilding a pipeline of prospectsGetting more website trafficRaising awareness@JuliaCSocial #TweetEC @EnterpriseCtr

5) Follow OthersTwitter will suggest people for you to follow, once you get started and follow a few accounts. You can search for people by typing in your key words and topic in the search bar. The only way to build a following on Twitter (unless you are a huge celebrity) is to follow others. People get a notification when you follow them. You can unfollow at any time and they will not get a notification.

5) Follow OthersWho you follow and how many people you follow should correlate with your primary goal. Find and follow 10 people daily.Lose the dead weight by using a free app like Crowdfire choose Inactive FollowingDo not buy followers!1,000 engaged followers are better than10,000 fake or uninterested followers.
