Tips for Effective Tweeting

• (1): Use hash tags sparingly. – Placed at the end to enhance readability.– Integrate hashtags into your tweets.

• (2): Use links properly.

• (3): Make it easy to be retweeted.

• (4): Retweet but don’t leech.– If you want to include a comment in the retweet:

[insert comment] RT @[twitterhandle].– Use MT for a modified tweet.

• (5): Jazz up your tweets– Use humour when appropriate.– Add media to your tweets.

• (6): Interact with your followers– Build a social community – Don’t just broadcast

• (7): Ration your tweets– It’s all about quality and not quantity!

• You’re broadcasting newspaper headlines– Check spelling, readability, and syntax.

• HootSuite, Tweetdeck, Seesmic: Desktop tools for filtering tweets.

• Twtbase: a repository listing most of the add-on applications for Twitter.
