  • Heres what Rebecca Shirley of Eagle Nest Lodge says: We value the Orvis News tremendously. The Orvis News works so well with our clientele. We ask our guests where they have heard about us, and besides our repeat or referral guests, about 80 percent come from the Orvis News. We realize we are in an internet era. However, our average guest is 60 plus years of age. They are not reading the Orvis News online. They are reading the Orvis Newspaper. I can tell the day the paper hits the post office, as I do the majority of our "new" guest bookings within the week of the paper being released. And people hold on to the newspapers. It makes no sense to us to spend advertising dollars elsewhere. We advertise exclusively with Orvis because we believe that is the best place to spend our dollars and have been very successful in doing so. People like having something in their hands to read. It gives them options to look through.
