Nominations Press ConferenceIn November 2017, our celebrity co-hosts announce the nominees for the 2018 Spirit Awards. We set the stage for awards season, shining the spotlight on indie greats well ahead of the other shows.
January and February 2018
Nomination Screening SeriesMembers of Film Independent vote to determine the winners of the Spirit Awards. All nominated films are screened in Los Angeles. The Nomination Screening Series gives Spirit Awards voters a chance to see all the films before casting their ballots. Sponsors receive recognition at all screenings along with VIP tickets.

Film Independent Spirit AwardsThe day of celebration is kicked off when the Arrivals Carpet opens to welcome A-list celebrities, talented and decorated filmmakers, entertainment executives and other influencers.
