In general- Control your privacy settings – if you don’t
know how ASK!- Grow your networks wisely - Never post anything offensive on ANY
platform- Once out there you will never be able to
control it- People, universities, schools, employers ALL
do or will look at your social media - Social needs to be contained as it can
damage you for life

Some advice on what to do if it happens to you
TALK TO AN ADULT YOU TRUST AND WHO CAN HELP
The only reason we don’t talk about it is because we are embarrassed
- Embarrassment doesn’t last when we:- laugh about it- share what made us embarrassed- address it and DON’T avoid it- realise that you are NOT alone- learn from it
Overcome the embarrassment and you beat the bully

Especially when weighed down by all this other stuff
But LinkedIn dropped its age
to 13 for a reason
And school work!

Observe the Five Golden Rules1. Know why you want to be on it 2. Until you are confident set your profile
settings to “Make my public profile visible to no one”
3. In the meantime focus on getting your profile right
4. Only connect with people you know and have met
5. Never say anything on LinkedIn that you wouldn’t say to someone you want to get a job offer from
