Definition of CPTED
CPTED – Crime Prevention through Environmental Design
pronounced “sep-ted”
CPTED is a crime prevention discipline
based on the proper design and effective use
of built, landscaped and social environments,
leading to a reduction in the incidence
and fear of crime, as well as
improvement in the quality of life*
