Spring Volunteering Day
2012On the 19th of May HP took part in the 5th consecutive edition of Spring Volunteer Day, organized by Amcham. HP employees participated in two campaigns in parallel: Earth and Man National Museum and Sofia Zoo.

International Children’s Day June 1st 2012
Razliv OrphanageThe first part of the program was dedicated to a movie projection in Mladost 4. 27 children enjoyed the movie The Pirates! Band of Misfits! In the meantime, our HP volunteers were preparing tasty barbeque dishes at the Kambanite picnic park

Green Office Week 2012Green Office week is a interactive initiative which purpose was to introduce various “green” topics to the HP employees and to provide some advice, which we can start to apply in our daily activities in order to be committed to the HP efforts towards the environmental protection at a global level.

HP @ HIGH SCHOOL 2012HR Hub Bulgaria developed a program called HP@ High School. The program consists of 5 modules of theory and practice. The topics are: 1) I want t a job; 2) Making influential presentations; 3) Time management; 4) The boss’ chair; 5) Project Management. The program was developed for 17-18 year old students in their final year of high school and had the purpose to help the students and prepare them for their next steps in life and give them direction at the doorstep of their career journey.

Mission “The Pathfinders”
50 volunteers from HP took part in the renewal of the tourist marks of the Central Balkan National Park, Stara Planina. That was the first HP initiative related to the nature reserves activities in Bulgaria. Not only did our colleagues refresh the marks and the places for recreation on the route towards huts Vezhen and Benkovski, but they also participated actively in cleaning the park.

LOUIS BRAILLE SCHOOL
On September 12th, 2012, 12 HP employees took the initiative to visit Louis Braille School and give the school a hand in repainting and refreshing activities.Within a couple of hours, the HP Social Initiative Team made the difference for the school itself, for the children studying there and for society, by showing how work should be done in general – with lots of responsibility, enthusiasm and by walking the extra mile.

HP Bike to Work Week
This year HP took part in the European Mobility week in its own way, organizing series of events including trainings about safe biking in the streets of Sofia, bike escort to work and a biking parade.

DONATIONS 2012
Throughout 2012 HP has initiated and completed various donation campaigns, thus having helped a school in Elin Pelin, Louis Braille school and a social institution for infants and their mothers.

Sustainability Network Bulgaria (SNBG) is established in
September 2011 by Lilyana Velikova and Radoslav Spassov and now
has some 60 volunteers contributing as Green Ambassadors.
Our MISSION is to inspire, educate and engage HP Bulgaria
employees
in environmentally sustainable practices in order to live and work green.
To look for and implement practical innovative solutions that support
HP Global Sustainability Network goals.

REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE PROJECT OVERVIEW
• Reduce general waste by half in all buildings of HPBG by the end of FY13.
Objective
• Reduce waste, introduce recycling on HP Sofia site and keep recycling from now onwards. In addition the project aims at educating employees on sustainability practices so that there can be a spill-over to the broader community.
Mission
• Both HP Global Delivery Centre and HP Bulgaria. Ongoing project with start date 17st of September 2012.

HP BulgariaWHAT DO WE CONSUME?
On monthly basis HP Bulgaria employees use averagely: • 150 000 Plastic cups (from water and coffee machines)• 1800kg of Paper• 8000 Paper cups from Onda KBC• 1250 Plastic cutlery from K-express KBC, 2500 from K-express BPS• 3000 take-away Plastic boxes from K-express KBC, 6000 from K-
express BPS• 1250 Paper bags from K-express KBC, 2500 from K-express BPS
In total every HP employee produces around 20.6kg of garbage per month.

The garbage that HP Bulgaria produces on monthly basis is around 95 tons and a large part of it is actually Recyclable.
