set up CIPS (CenturianInstitute of ProfessionalStudies) at Jaipur. In a shortperiod of time, this institutehas come up as a centre of excellence. This institute isknown for its rigour, quality of education and its academicpursuits. Prof. Raghubir Singh,the director of this institute has

given this institute the direction that it required.

The institute has already conducted three FacultyDevelopment Programmes and two workshops on socialentrepreneurship.

AFTERSCHO OL conducted a two day workshop onsocial entrepreneurship at CIPS. There were 75 participants(from MBA 2 nd semester and 4 th semester). The details of the sessions were as under :Ist session : 28 March 2009 (10.00 am to 2.00 pm)

1. introduction to the concept of social entreprenuership2. introduction to business planning3. introduction to case study method of teaching

2ND SESSION: 28 March 2009 (2.45 pm to 5.45 pm with abrek at 4.00 pm)

1. business planning exercises2. group discussions on social issues and social problems3. business plan formulation initial exercises

MEDITATION SESSION (8.00 am to 9 am on 29 March2009)Attended by all the participants this meditation sessionwas specially designed as a training tool for socialentrepreneurship. At the end of the session, each participantfelt relaxed, lighter and focussed.

3rd SESSION : 29 March 2009 (9.00 am to 2 pm with break at 11.00 am)

The workshop on social entreperneurship was like a newdawn for many students. They were excited about theworkshop and they worked very hard on the assignentsgiven in the workshop.

The participants had sleepless night on 28 April (after abusy day) as they had to prepare a business plan for socialdevelopment and present it the next day morning. The

participants organised themselved in groups and startedwork on their ideas. (which they had build on 2 nd session)Dr. T.K. Jain and Mr. N.K. Choudhary (founder promotor Jaipur Rugs an organisation with social initiatives) andthe winning team (for social business plan): (in photograph):

The participants were thankful to the AFTERSCHO OLfor having conducted the workshop. Feedback receivedfrom some of the participants is presented below :

Mr. Amit Chouhan (student of 2 nd semester): this workhopwas a great learning occasion for all of us. I re-exploredand re-discovered myself during this workshop. The casestudy discussion was extremely stimulating. I wish to

attend many more such sessions.

time. I find these workshops a greatoccasion to learn and apply the business skills that we learnduring our MBA programme. These workshops are real testof our ability and they give us a new direction for life.
