What are you thoughts?

• We first when out into the public to ask their views on this controversial topic and used these responses to help build my social action video.

Fitness for purpose:

• What was the original purpose of your social action film?

To raise awareness to the viewers about the vast number of independent shops closing and the larger franchises in fear of taking over the whole town.

• Do you think your final product is fit for this purpose?

Yes my social action gives a brief but detailed view in the lives of those effected by the globalization in Henley.

As you can see from this section I am about to show you I have been able to get accurate opinions from the shop owners and Henley citizens.

Clarity of communication

• What was the message of your film?

The message I wanted to portray was that the originality of Henley with its quaint bakeries and independent shops needs to be restored before its too late.

• How clearly do you think you have communicated this message to your audience?

I feel my video shows the way Henley used to look and all the shut down shops and I hope the viewers will see this and realise Henley is losing its originality.

• Do you think your final product is appropriate for this audience?

Yes because It is based in Henley and related to the people and shop owners in Henley.

Compared with original intentions

• Think back to what your original intentions and ideas were for this social action film.

When my group and I first had the idea of Henley and globalization we thought of it because we walk through Henley everyday and we see the never ending closed shops and we all thought that raising awareness about this would be a good cause.

Effectiveness of techniques

• What techniques have you used in your social action, and how successful do you think you have been?

I have primarily used ‘Raise awareness’ and ‘campaign’ as these two are the main ones that would help my social action cause. I think both techniques are successful as I have managed to get my point across to the viewer whilst also managing to create a cause so good people would want to campaign for it!

Effectiveness of content

• How effective do you think the content of your film is?

I think my film does include some relevant and constructive points but if I were to re film I would possibly focus more on the closed shops as opposed to the open ones.

Impact of work

• Who have you shown your social action film to?

I have shown it too peers and other people from the public eye.

• Why did you choose these people to present the work to?

I wanted to ask my peers especially someone who lives in Henley to find out whether or not after watching it, they to would want to campaign.

• What impact has your work had upon the people who have watched it?

I feel after watching, the viewers now have a better understanding of the on going globalization and I feel many of the viewers would feel inclined to campaign now they have been informed on the cause.

Technical qualities• When you/your group recorded the footage and sound for your

social action, was this achieved to a high technical standard? If not, what would you do better next time?

No this was the one sector I was most disappointed with, because we filmed in town it was hard to keep away from loud traffic noises and people chatting but I think it gives off a more documentary feel so its not all bad. Next time I would chose a quieter area and speak a lot louder.

• How well have you have edited your film together using Premier?

I am disappointed in my editing because I find the use of premier pro quite difficult and I need to familiarize myself with all the buttons to achieve better results.

Aesthetic qualities• Does your film look how you wanted it to?

Yes and no, there are parts that I really like for example the intro and some of the transitions but there are other sections that look messy and sloppy and If I had more time I would try to include better effects.
