Cook Supper with Ming – Holiday MealCook supper with our favorite chef, Ming Louie. In the first of this three-part series, Ming will prepare a holiday meal of Shrimp Fried Rice. We’ll supply the ingredient list ahead of time so you can purchase what you need when you shop. Then tune in at the appointed time and cook supper with Ming. He’ll answer your questions in real time. When the program is over, sit down and enjoy a delicious homemade dinner.

Marissa’s Marvelous Story Time: All AgesThese interactive sessions include ASL, songs, stories, movement activities, and imagination promoting socialization and exploration. He’ll also dig through the crates of a recent vinyl record donation to the library to discover some musical surprises. This is Part One of a two-part series.

Yooper TalkIn this presentation, Kathryn Remlinger, author of Yooper Talk: Dialect as Identity in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, will show how dialect, place, and identity are connected. She will also demonstrate how sounding like a Yooper and what it means to be a Yooper are inextricably linked. Nineteen years worth of tourist souvenirs, public signs, movies and social media round out this lively, fun presentation.
