Program Note

This piece is based on the well-known story written by H. C.

Anderson. I made up the lyrics and music to tell the story. The

singer has to act as the boy, the girl and snow queen. Hence, it

is very important to sing with expressive and catching tone. The

narrator helps to illustrate the surroundings of the story.

My intention was to tell a bed-time story together with

music. I tried to make the lyrics audible and easily perceived.

The different instruments of percussion represent fixed subjects.

For example, the temple block represents snow -covered land;

the glockenspiel represents the boy.

Lyrics and brief story

1. Narrator

從前從前,有個魔王住在遙遠國度,那是個春天足跡不曾到過的國度。

魔王的鏡子是魔王的寶貝

醜陋 邪惡 壞心腸

照照鏡子 漂亮的花朵會枯萎

照照鏡子 眨眼的星星會哭泣

水會結冰 風會停止 世界改變

小惡魔也搶著玩鏡子 世界變糟 他們有得玩

爭奪中鏡子摔破了

小心小心 碎片落入眼睛 一顆心變成一塊冰 再熱情的心也凍成堅冰

小心小心 醜陋 邪惡 壞心腸

There is a queen living in a far away land, where spring does not visit. The queen

possesses a mirror. One day, the mirror was shatter and the fragments flew in the air.

Whoever got hurt by the splinters will turn callous.

2. Boy+ Girl

B:她是歌達,我最好的朋友,全村最可愛的女孩。

G:他是凱伊,我最好的朋友,全村最帥氣的男孩。

B:沿著葡萄園旁,那條小石子路,經過五棵櫻桃樹,小船順流而下穿越胡桃森

林,來到我們純樸的小村莊。

G:來到樂樂村,兩間繽紛房屋最顯眼,風信子、茉莉、薔薇、薰衣草和太陽花,

還有玫瑰連成線。

B:玫瑰橋我家連到歌達家,小小花園歡樂無限。

G:小小花園,歡樂無限。

The boy and the girl are good friends and have th eir houses close to the other.

3. Boy+ Girl

G:窗邊玫瑰連成線,歌達凱伊手拉手。

B:手拉著手,唱歌跳舞,我們是全世界最幸福的孩子。噢,好痛!

G:凱伊怎麼了?讓我看看你的眼睛

B:走開!離我遠點,我不認識妳

G:凱伊,我最好的朋友怎麼不認得我?我是你親愛的歌達啊!(大哭)

B:這是什麼花!看到就生氣!我不喜歡你們!

G:凱伊變了,花兒全被拔光(哭)

The boy’s eyes got hurt by something unknow n, and then he turned irritated. The

boy forgot his best friend, the girl.

4. Boy+ Snow Queen

B:我要離開這間熱烘烘的房子,我要離開這個太多顏色的村子

SQ:我是白雪皇后,男孩你不屬於這裡,跟我走,我將帶你去一個酷寒之地。

B:那是什麼地方?

SQ:是我的國家,太陽不溫暖、花朵不綻放、鳥兒不鳴唱、沒有喜悅沒有歡笑

的地方,一片白茫茫、白茫茫一片的國家。

The boy wanted to leave home because he felt too warm. Snow queen showed up

and introduced her snow-covered land.

Snow Queen’s land

SQ:現在我是你的主人,你要為我工作、持續工作、不停工作。

B:遵命,我的主人。不停工作,用發紫的雙手;不停工作,用顫抖的身軀,工

作工作,為榮耀皇后工作,工作工作,為皇后堆砌冰塊、打造冰宮。

SQ:堅固冰宮需要華麗裝飾,為我打扮冰宮,用美麗冰雕點綴,完美作品,感

動冰雪皇后完美作品,贏回男孩靈魂,感動冰雪皇后完美作品,男孩成為自己主

人。

B:工作工作,為榮耀皇后工作,工作工作,為皇后堆砌冰塊、打造冰宮、創造

動人作品。

Snow queen successfully abducted the boy and made him slave . She said only when

the boy spell “eternity” with ice can the boy be free again.

5. Narrator

雪后帶走的小男孩一去不返,小女孩焦急萬分,她不知道凱伊去了哪裡,村外的

人們謠傳男孩被一片冰雪帶走,掉到河裡溺死了。

女孩不相信,決心出發一探究竟

男孩不是河水帶走,女孩搭著小船順著河水來到老婆婆家。

魔法老婆婆,想留住小女孩,

她讓時間變慢,讓花園裡的玫瑰通通消失。

勇敢小女孩,逃出魔法花園繼續辛苦旅程,

在善良朋友幫助下,小女孩走過千山萬水,經過山丘平原,終於來到了酷寒之國。

小女孩走進冰宮,但在冰宮的一百多個房間內,只有奴隸卻沒有凱伊身影。

The girl passed through difficult journey and finally found the ice land. However, she

did not see the boy there.

6. Boy+ Girl

G:冰宮這麼大,凱伊到底在哪裡? 那是什麼聲音?凱伊!(看見凱伊興奮大叫)

凱伊我終於找到你,你還好嗎?

B:妳是誰?我不認識妳

G:凱伊,我是歌達呀,難道你還是不認得我?

B:妳是誰?離我遠點,不要擋住我工作。

The boy showed up working impassively without recognizing who the girl is.

7. Narrator

凱伊像個木頭人似的冷冷的看著歌達,他的冷淡傷透了歌達的心。歌達抱著凱伊

放聲大哭,她的眼淚滴落在凱伊的胸膛,溫暖了凱伊的心,融化了魔鏡碎片,使

他的心變得柔軟,終於認出了歌達,此時男孩哭了起來,魔鏡碎末隨著眼淚流走

了。

The girl cried out bitterly. Her tears fell on the boy ’s chest and warmed his heart. The

splinters of mirror melted. He finally remembered his best friend.

B:歌達?歌達是妳嗎?妳為什麼哭?

G:凱伊!凱伊你終於認出我!

B:這裡是什麼地方?怎麼一點溫暖、一點色彩也沒有?

G:這裡是冰宮,你被白雪女王帶來這替她工作。

B:歌達妳怎麼在這裡?

G:我到處找你,走了好遠的路,穿過千山萬水,經過山丘平原,終於來到酷寒

之國,終於找到你!

B:可憐的歌達,竟然為我吃這麼多苦。

G:我們快離開這裡!

B:我想起來了,如果我不能完成感動白雪皇后的作品,她不會放我走的。

G:怎麼辦才好?

B:我知道,看我的吧!

Narrator:

凱伊在地上拼出“永恆”,就在那一瞬間,凱伊自由了。

The boy spelled “eternity” and got won his freedom.

8. Boy+ Girl, back home

B:玫瑰橋從我家連到歌達家。

G:窗邊玫瑰連成線,像我們手拉著手。

B:手拉著手,攜手度過難關,我們是全世界最幸福的孩子。

They are back home. By passing through predicament together, they are happily

bounded.
