FEBRUARY 2019 SNOW GLOBE CITY by Dalila Gonzalez, Senior I woke up to a brand new city! During my sleep it fell like cherry blossoms in spring, Gracefully and carelessly covering my universe, Streets of potholes and cracks transformed into a white, plush carpet. The nasty, dirty dumpster is now a gleaming treasure box. Dark, stark branches of winter trees cascade into a crystalline curtain. The city looks cleaner and quieter, now so majestic and peaceful. I like this snow globe city. We admit that sometimes it is easy to miss when the “ugly” around us gets magnified, or when we get too busy to allow ourselves to wonder in awe at the exquisite way that He does His work. We asked our students, “How has God made your lives beautiful?” • Jason, 4 th grader, replied, “God has made my life beautiful by giving me a mom and a family like I have, giving me a school and friends at Mount Clare, giving me the life I am living, giving me the wisdom on how to succeed in the future, and most importantly, giving me the love of Christ.” • Tyler, 8 th grader, responded, “ I see beauty by knowing that God is with me and this has made it easier for me to get through my problems.” • Mya, 11th grader, said, “Something beautiful that God is doing in my life is reminding me constantly that in His Word there is a great gain. I need this especially with the pain I have and the depression I have been going through lately.”

I woke up to a brand new city!
During my sleep it fell like cherry blossoms in spring,
Gracefully and carelessly covering my universe,
Streets of potholes and cracks transformed into a white, plush
carpet.
The nasty, dirty dumpster is now a gleaming treasure box.
