SUPPLIES
Sewing Machine and Iron
Thread; cotton piecing thread and also cotton quilting thread to match fabric.
Cutting mat, rotary cutter and quilting rulers.
Glass Head fine pins
Design Wall
Spray baste
MATERIALS (all fabrics used are manufactured by Hoffman California International Fabrics)
Main Prints: N4247 – “Wish You Were Here” – ½ yard – will be
fussy cut
N4250 – “Electric Petals” – ¼ yard
Fill In Fabrics:
1. 104 150-Sunflower – 1 yard - because of directional cutting – use leftovers for back/binding.
2. 103 214-Aquamarine – 1/3 yard
3. 102 90-Spruce – 1/3 yard
4. 106 14-Purple – 1/3 yard
5. 106 90-Spruce – ¼ yard
6. N7700 46-Plum – ¼ yard
7. 106 214-Aquamarine – ¼ yard
8. 100 72-Magenta - ¼ yard
9. 100 214-Aquamarine – ¼ yard
10. 100 11-Mauve – ¼ yard
Backing, Sleeve and Binding fabric – I use my left over scraps for this.
Batting 80/20
Cotton Thread for piecing and quilting.
CUTTING:
Refer to the chart and diagram for cutting each fabric. Refer to the quilt photo on cover page for
additional reference. Pay attention to directional fabric…you may want to fussy cut.
Fabric Cuts: All measurements are in inches and include the seam allowance.
A 6 x 8; 8.5 x 12.5; 7 x 18.5 F 5 x 20.5 K 5 x 16
B 7 x 8 G 10 x 7 L 5 x 20
C 5 x 13.5 H 6.50 x 18.5 M 2 x 33
D 4 x 21.5 I 3 x 35.5 N 2.75 x 37
E 4 x 21.5 J 3 x 28.5 O 3 x 32.75
For Border around piece A (Mauve) cut (2) 1 x 8 and (2) 1 x 7; around piece A1 (Aquamarine) cut (2) 1 x 8.5 and (2) 1 x 13.5; around piece A2 (Magenta) cut (2) 1 x 7 and (2) 1 x 19.5
Place all cut pieces on your design wall following the diagram.

PIECING: (all seams are ¼ inch); Pin all the fabrics (right sides together) as you sew them to maintain accurate
measurements.
1. Sew all border pieces around A, A1 and A2. Sew vertical strips first and then the
horizontal strips. Press.
2. Sew A to G, A1 to C, A2 to B. Press.
3. Sew D and E together. Press.
4. Sew H to the A/AG piece. Press.
5. The next seam will be a partial one. Attach C to the A2/B piece. Match
the right edges and then stop sewing 2 inches from the end of
C…backstitch to strengthen. Press except near the unfinished seam.
6. Sew D/E to A1/C/B. Press.
7. Sew F to top of A1/D/E. Press.
8. Sew H/A/AG to F/A1/C. Press.
9. Now you can complete the partial seam and sew C/G/H to top of A2. See photo.
Press.
10. Another partial seam; sew I across the top stopping 2 inches from end of F. Backstitch to
strengthen. Press.
11. Sew J down the left side of piece. Press.
12. Sew K and L together then sew strip to the across the bottom of the piece from J to E.
Press.
13. Sew M onto the left next to J/K. Press.
14. Sew N across bottom. Press.
15. Attach O to right side of piece from F to N. Press.
16. Finish the partial seam along I. Press.
Finishing: I used my leftover pieces for my back and for my hidden binding. Spray baste the top, batting, and
back. Bind and quilt.
Don’t forget your label.
