• The SNAP is the gateway examination to joinpostgraduate programs offered by institutes ofSymbiosis International University. Candidatesaspiring to join MBA programs offered byinstitutes of Symbiosis International Universityhave to take the common, mandatory SymbiosisNational Aptitude (SNAP) Test. There are 15 MBAcolleges which is under SIU will accept SNAPscores for their respective 2 years full time MBAprograms.

• A candidate used to register for SNAP Test & thenregister with the institutes offering his/ her choiceof program by paying separate institutionregistration fees. If shortlisted, he/she would thenattend the GE-PIWAT process conducted by eachof these institutes.

four sections of 30 minutes each. It has 150 objectivetype questions of one mark each divided into thevarious sections. There is also a negative markingscheme wherein 0.25 marks are deducted for everywrong answer. The sections are as follows:

General English - Reading Comprehension, VerbalReasoning & Verbal Ability: This section is a 40 marksection consisting of 40 questions testing the readingskills, verbal reasoning skills and the verbal ability ofthe students.

Quantitative, Data Interpretation & DataSufficiency: This section tests the mathematicalaptitude and data interpretation skills of the students.This is also a 40 mark section consisting of 40questions.

section tests the student’s knowledge ofcurrent affairs of two years up to the examdate. This is a 30 mark section consisting of30 questions.

Analytical & Logical Reasoning: Thissection tests the analytical and logicalreasoning skills of the students. This is a 40mark section consisting of 40 questions.

from any recognized / statutory University orInstitute with a minimum of 50% marks (45% forSC/ST). Programs which require specificdiscipline/ subject specialisation need to bechecked for eligibility as given by the respectiveInstitute.

A candidate who has completed qualifyingdegree from any Foreign University must obtainan equivalence certificate from the Associationof Indian Universities (AIU). All foreign degrees/qualifications need to be verified from AIU bythe candidate before seeking admission to anyprogramme of SIU.

This section is the easiest section in the entire SNAP test.It evaluates the areas of Verbal Reasoning, Grammar andVocabulary with a greater emphasis on vocabulary. TheGeneral English section consists of 40 questions out oftotal 150 questions. In this section, the student must tryto attempt 40 questions within 30 minutes

Students are advised to read a lot of good fiction andnonfiction books with greater emphasis on Americanand British novels.

Students have to learn a minimum of ten words so asto improve vocabulary. Students are also advised tolearn how the various words are used.

Any standardized dictionary like the CambridgeAdvanced Learner’s Dictionary or Oxford AdvancedLearner’s Dictionary can be referred.

SNAP has always placed heavy emphasison this section. This section tests thequantitative and arithmetical skills of thestudents. It covers topics like Time andWork, Time and Distance, Mixtures andAlligations, Ratio and Proportion, Averagesand Profit & Loss. There might bequestions from Geometry and Mensurationtoo. This is also an easy section to crack after GeneralEnglish section. Current Affairs section consists of 30questions out of total 150 questions. Students must try tocomplete 20 questions in 10 minutes in this section. Hereare the preparation tips:

Students are advised to be up to date with newsrelating to the economy, sports, business and currentevents.
