Best to Never Start – Next best – quit ASAP
• Your baby gets less oxygen. Lack of oxygen can cause your baby to grow more slowly and gain less weight – This means the brain and vital organs grow more slowly also. A low birth weight baby is a much greater risk of other health problems.

It is never too late to quit!
• You will be at higher risk of miscarriage.
• You will be at higher risk of preterm birth. A baby born too soon generally has breathing problems and can have long-term health problems.
