The micropipette puller you always have dreamed to have Basedonthecutting-edgetechnology, thisaffordableelectrodepullerwillbringyoumultipleadvantagesandsetnewqualitylevelinelectrophysiologymicropipettespreparation.Designedwithatouchscreenwhichhelpyouselectingthepullingsequenceofyourchoiceandmemorizingyourfavoriteparameters,specialattentionwasplacedintheelaborationoftheuserinterfacetosimplifyyourday-to-daylifewhilekeepingthehigheststandard inmicropipettesfabrication. Using a long-standing experience in electrode pulling our engineers have placedspecial attention in the design of the electrode handling, the mechanical drive, force andtemperaturecontroloftheheatingfilament.Programmingofanelectrodepullerhasneverbeensosimpleandasingletouchwillbringyoutothenextlevelofsophistication.Builtaroundfastμ-controllers,theelectrodepullerusesthelatest available technology for the controlof theheating furnacemanagingup to50A in theplatinum-iridiumfilament.Mechanicalandthermalprotectionwillinsurestableandreproducibleconditionsforthepipettefabrication.Simpleandefficientholdingsystemsguarantyaperfectclampoftheglass.

The user interface UniPixSmartPullisdesignedtobesimpletouseandeasytoprogram.Everyuserhasthechoicebetween3pullingmodes,eachprimarilydesignedforspecificusages.
Injection pipettes
Thismodeisdesignedtopulltheglassinthreeheating/pullingsteps.Thisisused,forexample,for
patchclamppipettesorshortshanks.
Fine tip
Thismodeisdesignedtopulltheglassintwoheating/pullingsteps.Thismodecanbeusedfor
makingdifferenttipsincludingsharptips.

Thismodewithasinglepullisdesignedformakinginjectionpipettes.

Anewuserissimplycreatedbyenteringanewname.Hewillberequestedtostorea4letterspassword.Thefactoryparametersforthethreemodesareautomaticallyloaded.Whentheuserisworkingintooneofthepullingmodes,hecanfreelymodifyanyparameterofthemodeinordertooptimizethepullingprocessaccordingtoisrequirements.Thenewparametersareautomaticallystoredforthisuser(unlesstheuserdecidetocancelmodifications).Ifthesameuserwantstohaveseveralvariantsofpullingparametersinthesamemode,hesimplycreatesanewuser.Morethan1000userscanbedeclaredoneachinstrument.

Maintenance
Cleaning Routinelycleantheexteriorandthebaseplateoftheunitbywipingthemwithadryclothtoremovedustandfinepiecesofglass.Avoidcontactwiththefilament.If you break glass capillaries into the heater, you can simply remove fragments and dust byblowingairwithanairgunonthefilament.
• Don’tusetoohighairpressure• Don’ttouchthefilamentwithanobject• Weargogglestoprotectyoureyesforglassfragmentswhenyoublowair.• Itisnotrecommendedblowairwithyourmouth.
Replacing the O-ring of the glass capillary holder TheholdershaveanelastomerO-ringtoclampandavoidslidingoftheglasscapillaryduringthepulling.Ifyouobservebadclamping,thismaybeduetodamagedO-ring.Inthiscase,itisrecommendedtoreplacetheO-ringsofthetwoholders.OnlyuseO-ringssoldbyUniPix.O-ringreplacementsteps:

Replacing Heating Filament Ifthefilamentisdamagedofbroken,itmustbereplaced.ItisrecommendedthatyousendtheSmartPULLtoUniPixtodothefilamentreplacement(pleaseaskforthecostofreplacement).Ifyouwanttodothereplacementyourself,pleasecarefullyfollowtheinstructionsbelow:
