Autumn Newsletter 2017 Dear Parents and Carers, It has been wonderful to see our young people back in school after the summer break. I hope you all managed to enjoy time with them during our mixed bag of a British summer. There have been slight changes to the staff team with Amanda Lee re-joining us in supporting the class together with Julie Lowdon our HLSSA, Nicola Edwards, Jacqui Allen and Julie Robson. Our sessions continue to have therapy integrated at all times both with joint planning and therapy lead sessions throughout the week. Michele McCafferty remains our OT with Nicola Leonard as our SaLT. Gemma James will be working alongside Rachel Cooper this year as our physio team. Pamela McGahon continues to teach very lively music sessions each Thursday afternoon and we are really pleased to have Hannah, our music therapist, working on an individual basis with some of the class. Our timetable remains very similar to last year with a combination of physical, sensory and communication based sessions throughout the week. Individual timetables will be available shortly. The topic for this term is “The Ancient World” and we will be exploring the music, art, food, animals, landmarks and culture of Egypt, the Romans and Greece. If you are in school please ask to see our “learning journey” books in which we are documenting pupil progress and experiences with photos. Once complete, these will be coming home. As always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me via the home/school diary, telephone or email ([email protected] )

Autumn Newsletter 2017Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been wonderful to see our young people back in school after the summer break.

Pamela McGahon continues to teach very lively music sessions each Thursday afternoon and we are really pleased to have Hannah, our music therapist, working on an

individual basis with some of the class.

As always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me via the home/school diary, telephone or email ([email protected])

With best wishes,

Rachel and the class team
