3D Visualisations and AnimationsThese can depict either a visual impressionof how an installation may look onceconstructed (for public or stakeholderacceptance), or even demonstrate a visualmethod statement to highlight specificconstruction principles or techniques foraccurate costing or contractor educationpurposes.

3D Intelligent ModellingAll construction projects undertaken byCapita Symonds are done in an Intelligent,3D environment. This is a practice where acomponent based steelwork, civil, pipingand E&I system is used to engineer a virtualconstruction as part of the design process.

Asset Records Management System(ARMS)Delivering client documentation in an easilyaccessible yet comprehensive manner. Inorder to reduce the need for clients to havemany different software systems and avariety of training therein, a completeproject document can be delivered in aneasily navigable and layered PDF (Adobe'sPortable Document Format) system.

Laser ScanningLaser scanning is a surveying serviceprovided by Capita Symonds. By utilisingthe latest technology in both Pulse andPhased based laser scanning, we are able tobuild up 3 Dimensional representations ofboth equipment and topology in a fractionof the time, and with far greater accuracy,than conventional surveying techniques.

Panoramic Photography and VirtualTours - ‘Multi-Pix’As part of any site attendance, CapitaSymonds now takes a thorough photographicrecord in the form of a virtual tour. This isachieved by taking panoramic images (usingour specialist camera equipment) at strategicpoints across the site. These images are thencompiled into a navigable, interactive virtualtour which allows the user to effectivelyvisit and travel through the site in real time.

Document Capture and Reprographic ServicesSeveral years ago Capita Symonds identifiedthe need for clients to be able to capturetheir legacy documentation in an electronicform, whether for inclusion in corporateelectronic document management systems(EDMS) or for legislative compliance. Wehave subsequently developed a documentcapture bureau to provide this service.

Wales & West Utilities:Multiple projects providing Asset RecordsManagement (ARMS), electronic documentpackages.

Sellafield Ltd:Data capture by Laser scanning of existingplant infrastructure. Production of accurate3D model of existing plant to allow thedesign of replacement pipework andassociated equipment. 3D model used inconjunction with Multi-Pix for stake holder,HSE and contractor reviews.
