Energy Security: Commission Puts Forward Comprehensive Strategy to Strengthen Security of Supply In response to the political crisis in Ukraine and the overall importance of a stable and abundant supply of energy for EU citizens and economy, the European Commission released an "EU Energy Security Strategy" on May, 28th 2014. To ensure the security of supply challenges in the medium and long-term, the EC proposes actions in several key areas: diversify supplier countries and routes, upgrade energy infrastructure, increase energy efficiency, complete the EU internal energy market and build missing infrastructure links.
