Yabun Festival is the largest celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in New South Wales, and one of the most prolific Indigenous events in the world.

The festival takes place at Victoria Park in Sydney on 26 January. It features a vibrant live music lineup of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, a bustling arts and stalls market, children’s activities, community forums, and unique performances of traditional Aboriginal culture.

First held at Redfern Park in 2002, Yabun was created to continue in the long tradition of Sydney’s ‘Survival Day’ concerts. We celebrate the survival of our cultures, customs and the sharing of these ancient rites through dance and song.

In its present home at Victoria Park, Camperdown, Yabun features two performance stages, a Corroboree ground, over 100 stalls as well as dedicated offerings catering to children, youth and the elderly.

The Corroboree Ground has earned a reputation for providing one of Sydney’s most unique cultural experiences.

Indigenous dance groups from across the country perform their traditional dances, telling stories and sharing their ancient cultures. The Corroboree runs for the duration of the festival day.

TESTIMONIALS “Wonderful day with amazing dancing and great music. The most inclusive atmosphere I’ve never experienced in a festival.” Anne van Dongen

“What a wonderful, magical day! It was such a loving, inclusive, peaceful and (to add to my lingo!) ‘deadly’ celebration! Thanks for the experience and to all the wonderful dancers, singers and volunteers for the event!” Vashi Sarna

“My daughter and I had a wonderful day, so many relaxed people, no agro anywhere! Beautiful dancers, great vibes all round, great mix of peoples and so welcoming. Will be gathering friends and family next year to join us at the festival. Congratulations to all involved bringing this event together.” Natalie Velthuyzen

“Spending time with people, great food, great stalls and experiencing the most beautiful culture with those people both non-indigenous and indigenous who truly appreciate it in ones heart and soul. Fantastic vibe the whole day. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be on 26 Jan!” Anonymous
