Celebra�ng the birthdays of those 80 and over born in January

Last Sunday 27th Jan, the first monthly birthday celebra�on of the year for those aged 80 years and over was held, for those born in the month of of January.

Among the 16 precious members and regular worshippers whom the Church recognised with our pray-ers, love and blessings were Rev Ng Ee Lin, Tony Chan Khay Eng, Ng Cheok Hoh, Annie Chin Sew Eng, Nga Nguk Su, Bobby Foo Yew Onn, Vivian Oh, Ooi Chew Nam, Kay Khoo Kin Tee, Ooi Choo Lian, Lee Soo Seong, Tan Kim Choo, Lim Chin Lian, Wan Chee Han, Viola Gong (who turned 99 years old!) and Loh Mei Lan (who turned 100 years old!).

We thank our Lord for their lives and pray that He will con�nue to bless and keep them.

PRAYER FOCUS & REQUESTS Sunday 3 February Personal: Thank God for what He is doing in our lives, our church and in our na�on in response to

prayer. Ask the Lord to help us to con�nually abide in Jesus and inten�onally strive toward having His words abide in us (Jn 15:7). Pray that we will strive to daily commune with Him.

Ask the Lord to help us not just to read the Bible but to have the Bible constantly reading us—exposing our sin and brokenness and revealing more and more of the riches of the gospel (Heb, 3:15). Thank the Lord that He no longer condemns us but frees us to walk according to the Spirit (Rom. 8:1-8)

Monday 4 February Malaysia: Con�nue to pray for our rulers, government and peoples of this na�on so that Malaysia

will have peace and will prosper (1 Tim. 2:1-4; Isa. 60:3). Pray for stability of the government. Pray for media freedom to be nurtured, pray for their protec�on too as they seek to expose decep-

�on and lies. Tuesday 5 February Malaysia: Pray for “jus�ce to flow like a river” for the least, the last, the lost and the li�le. Pray for

Chris�ans to reach out in love to the marginalised, the vulnerable, the forgo�en and neglected in society. Pray that the disabled and ageing are well cared for by compassionate and dedicated care-givers.

Pray for the protec�on of children—including stateless and refugees— through improved laws, poli-cies and prac�ces so that they can grow in a safe, secure, healthy and loving environment. Pray for children with special needs so that they are well cared for.

Wednesday 6 February Malaysia: Pray that the church will choose to live in holiness, and walk in the fear of God. Pray that

the Church will advocate Holy Living and will strive to teach the importance of holiness. Ask God to empower the Body of Christ to become so bold in its declara�on of biblical truth that

every person living in the land would hear the word of the gospel and has an opportunity to believe (Acts 19:10; Rom. 10:8-9)

Thursday 7 February Persecuted Church: China: Con�nue to pray with the believers, who are facing increased surveillance

and persecu�on, that “... every street may know the name of the Lord Jesus!’ Church: Pastors: Intercede for their needs, their families, and their daily commune with Him. Pray

that we would be like Aaron and Hur, li�ing up the o�en weary arms of our pastors as they seek to fulfill the calling He has given. Pray that as their hearts are fully commi�ed to Him, they will lead our congrega�on towards becoming a house of prayer.

Friday 8 February Church: Pray that the Church will walk humbly before God, acknowledging our lack of dependance

on God. Repent of sinful ways that are in the church, our prayerlessness, worldliness, disunity within and between churches.

Pray that we, the church would allow Him to mold us to be a people pleasing to Him by powerfully using His Word to judge the thoughts and inten�ons of our hearts (Heb. 4:12). Pray for teachable hearts.

Saturday 9 February Sunday Service: Pray that God would anoint our preachers with the power of His Holy Spirit. Pray

that our worship be a sweet aroma to Him, and a transforming power for us. Pray that all worship enablers would reflect Him by serving one another in humility.

Uphold those we know in the midst of pain, loss and illness. Pray for His healing grace and mercies. Pray for our unbelieving rela�ves and friends. Ask Him to give us His heart for those who are lost without Christ in this world.
