EV Fuel Reduction
Gallons of fuel saved assumes that 1% of US electricity generation comes from petroleum and can thus be neglected. The number of kWh used to power the EV, 340 Wh/mile electricity consumption of the EV, and the 28.6 mpg fuel economy of the comparable, conventional vehicle are used in the formula for Gallons of Fuel saved: Gallons of Fuel Saved = (Total kWh Used*1000)/340/28.6
