    Chanakya a Historical milestone in the making ofIndia.

    He lived around the third century BC, his ideas andprinciples are valid even today.

    Even today, one of his maxims on taxation is verymuch alive.

    As a person Chanakya has been described variously.

    Takshashila, one of the topmost centers of education at that time in Indiabecame Chanakyas breeding ground of acquiring knowledge in thepractical and theoretical aspect.

    At a very early age little Chanakya started studying Vedas.

    He was attracted to studies in politics.

    After studying religion and politics, he turned his attention to economics.

    A self sufficient economy which is not dependent on foreigntrade.

    An egalitarian society where there are equal opportunities for all.

    development of natural and man made resources. the state should monitor the most important and vital resource

    The state should take care of agriculture at all times.

    Internal trade was more important to Chanakya than externaltrade. At each point of the entry of goods, a minimal amount oftax should be collected.

    ConclusionConclusion Chanakyas teaching applies both to repetitive and non repetitive

    work (projects). Planning, strategizing and Policy formulatingoccupies a lot of importance

    Chanakya was a Strategist in the true sense.

    He had emphasised on laying down a suitable policy toaccomplish work or goal.

    Chanakya framed policies with rare prudence, clarity and

    judiciousness. They are still treated as the basis of diplomacyand formation of policies and rules by most of the governmentsof the world.
