    1 Introduction This document provides a description of the De Havilland DHC6 Apibox System setup and debriefing software setup.

    This document explain how to create a xml configuration file for the De Havilland DHC6 Apibox system with the installation specific calibration values recorded using the TCM-CR2011004 De Havilland DHC6 - Test and calibration manual.pdf and then to generate a parameter memory card to setup properly the APIBOX system.

    2 Apibox System setup

    2.1 XML Apibox aircraft parameters file The PARAM-CR2011004-DHC6-xxxx.xml file is a generic file for your DHC-6 aircraft and *must* be customized

    You can edit it with notepad (by example) for each aircraft according some parameters:

    aircraft id

    apibox id

    specific values recorded using the GTCM-CR2011004 De Havilland DHC6 Ground test and calibration manual.pdf

    The header of the PARAM-CR2011004-DHC6-xxxx.xml file with in red the data to modify:

    ( APIBOX aircraft parameters file for Socata TB20 Installation, v1.0a )

    ( this file must be uniq for each aircraft. )

    For the aircraft identification, you can for example choose the aircraft registration to indentify it in the debriefing software ().

    Each aircraft must have a different Apibox identification.

    Once the file for one aircraft is done, it should have its own name (ie: PARAM-CR2011004-DHC6-F-XXXX.xml) and it should be used by the debriefing software to generate setup sd card.

    2.2 Procedure to generate a parameters update SD card See Chapter 8 in the Apibox System - Debriefing administrator handbook.pdf

    To create a SD-Card that will update the parameters of the Apibox System in the aircraft, in the menu select Maintenance => Generate a parameters update card for an Apibox:

    Insert a formatted card SD in your computer

    In the first field, enter the path of the file on the SD-Card. For example: e:\parameter.dat.

    In the second field, enter the path of the Apibox parameters file. For example: c:\ PARAM-CR2011004-DHC6-F-ABCD.xml.

    Then click on Generate.

    2.3 Procedure for updating the parameters on the aircraft Set aircraft master switch on.

    Insert the generated SD Card in the APISD (Apibox system card module).

    The message 'setParam' scrolls one letter to one letter on the APISD and validate the transaction by pressing the button on APISD.

    The letters A, B, C,... scrolls and at the end flashing 'r' appears.

    Remove the SD card then the system restarts

    Wait for the stabilization of the green LED.

    Set aircraft master switch off.

    N.B.: The parameter card is used only once, it's "flagged" and cannot be used to parameterize an another aircraft, because, each aircraft *must* have different parameter.

    3 Debriefing software setup

    3.1 Installation You can download the debriefing software here:

    http://www.iaero.fr/pub/Apibox-Debriefing-Install-1.1.25.exe (or similar)

    Installation code: iaero-124377532 (chapter 3 in administrator handbook)

    3.2 Register an Apibox To register an Apibox in the debriefing software to see DHC6 flights (chapter 5.1 in administrator handbook):

    Menu / Apibox / Apibox Management => new

    Apibox ID: one provided with the hardware

    Aircraft file settings: c:\iaero\debriefing\CR2011004 Socata DHC6.xml

    Apibox key: one provided with the hardware

    3.3 Create a standard pilot card See Chapter 7 in the Apibox System - Debriefing administrator handbook.pdf

    3.4 Import flights To import your flights in the Debriefing software (chapter 1.2 in Apibox System - Debriefing administrator handbook.pdf):

    Menu / SDCard / Import Flights from SDCard

    And select the file on the SDCard and click on import.

    3.5 Open a flight You can go on Menu / File / Open a flight => And select a flight. (chapter 2 in user handbook)

    N.B.: If the Apibox is not registered in the debriefing software, information about flights are confidential and locked and so you cant open them.
