At Hilltop we went in search for an outstanding red donor and our search ended with Red Jewel. This beautiful red donor commanded a hefty price tag; however has the ability to add value to our genetic base. After making her new home in Hudson, we knew that we wanted to flush her to Beef King. With all the top progeny out of Beef King and his sire Beef Maker this will be home run that will benefit any program. To sweeten the deal, this mating to Beef King is a sexed heifer mating. It is very exciting to be in Seward, Nebraska when the grass is green and there isn’t a chance of snow! There has been talk of The Spring Turnout for quite some time now. Of course you know that the Sloup family is committed to raising some of the best and most sought after genetics in the Simmental breed. They have had a highly successful production sale for over 20 years, and will continue to have it in October. Everyone knew though it was time for something different. Therefore, it became logical to partner up with partners and friends, Kevin and Jaron Van Beek from Hilltop Simmentals on a spring event that would set cattlemen up to purchase outstanding genetics right when its time to turn them out to pasture.

The Spring Turnout features something that everyone can appreciate. Cow-calf pairs, 3-n-1’s, and bred females that are in their working clothes ready to roll from their pasture to yours. These animals stem from those proven cow families that these two operations have to offer. There are a few elite donors for your selection; as well as some very special open females. Of course, it wouldn’t be an event in Seward if there wasn’t some genetics lots thrown in as well.
