What is it?

• Slideshare is a free service that allows you to upload PowerPoint, Keynote, Word, and video documents to the internet

• Once uploaded you are able to embed the presentation into other websites

Features:

• Allows you to view presentation in full screen mode

• Ability to view and browse the thousands of other presentations that have been uploaded

• Can adjust security settings so only your contacts can view presentation

Criticisms

• Sometimes when the powerpoint is uploaded to the internet and converted to a Flash document there a subtle changes in some of the formatting

ie// some pictures don’t transfer, some text doesn’t transfer, alignment and formatting adjusted

Educational Use

• This program is excellent in classrooms for sharing presentations with classmates. Slideshare offers a quick way to bring up the document without having to wait for each student to log on or download it from email. Also you can upload presentations and simply post a link to the presentation to allow classmates to view each others presentations.
