Development• With state allocations decreasing, development is more

important to the success of the school and departments than ever before

• We have had tremendous success thanks to the work of many of our faculty

• You can help raise funds by identifying opportunities and opening doors for the development office

• UB’s office of corporate and foundation relations is available to help you secure funding from private entities

Financial Items

• For the upcoming fiscal year (2009 – 2010), at least a 3% permanent state operating cut is expected, which would mean a loss of ~$250,000 to the School.

• Further cuts are a possibility depending on the fiscal health of the State.

Several ongoing projects:

• 3rd floor Kimball will be completed in May.

• 4th floor Kimball is completed.

• Renovation of 5th and 6th floors in Kimball scheduled to begin Oct./Nov. 2009.
