I am passionate about providing children with the opportunity to share their ideas and insights as well as ensuring they feel respected and valued. I really believe that education is about developing children, who want to learn, both inside and outside the classroom and provide them with as many opportunities as possible to become true global citizens. My previous role has given me many wonderful opportunities to observe good practice across many schools. In my role as an SLE, I have been able to reflect on what I have seen and share this with other colleagues.

Nic Williams Business Management/Parental Engagement/SENI am currently Director of Business and Community at Blue Bell Hill Primary School in St Ann’s, Nottingham. I have been working in inner city schools for the past 17 years. I started my career as a Teaching Assistant; then became the first Primary Learning Mentor in the City of Nottingham. A major part of my role has been as the Lead Behaviour and Attendance Professional and the Lead SEAL co-coordinator, speaking at many National conferences on SEAL. As part of the Senior Management team of Blue Bell Hill Primary I helped lead it from being a struggling school with poor grades to an Ofsted rated “Outstanding” School.

I am passionate about schools being at the heart of the community and providing new opportunities and experiences for its children and families.

Helen Brown Pupil Premium/Closing the GapI am the Deputy Head at Hucknall National C of E Primary School. Since 2013, one of my responsibilities has been around ‘Closing the Gap’, especially for Pupil Premium children. Only a few years later, at Hucknall National we are now really starting to see our gaps close and the impact of the support and intervention we have in place has made a huge difference to our children. I spent a lot of time researching different ways to close the gap during my NPQH and this research has helped us to use our funding more effectively.

As an SLE I look forward to sharing ideas with colleagues and working together to do the best possible for our children.
