The children in Willow have all come back to school full of enthusiasm and we are really looking forward to our topic for this half term... ‘Jurassic World’. Please see the attached overview for a breakdown of what we will be covering, in each Curriculum area, throughout this topic. Our P.E sessions will continue to be on Tuesdays and Thursdays – please remind your child to make sure they have their kit with them on these days. Spellings will be given each Friday and tested on the following Friday. Homework will be given on a Thursday and needs to be handed in on the following Monday. As part of our ‘Jurassic World’ topic we will be watching clips from the BBC ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’ collection and may also watch the Disney film ‘Dinosaur’ as an end of topic treat. Both of these are rated as PG and I therefore require your permission in order for your child to watch these in school. Please sign the permission slip below if you are happy to consent to this. Any children who do not have consent from parents or carers, will be provided with alternative activities linked to our topic. Some children have asked if they can bring in books and dinosaurs from home to join the ones we already have on our ‘Jurassic World’ display in our classroom. I have told them that this is absolutely fine as long as everyone looks after other people’s property – if you would rather your child didn’t bring in their own things from home I completely understand as things can accidentally become lost or damaged. This week, all children in Willow have helped to make our huge dinosaur skeleton for our display, and have decided to call him Geoff I’m sure you’ll agree they’ve done a fantastic job and he looks amazing!!!
