The stirring climax wasrecorded by Hellbender in the Black Book of D.117: ``... The ring of pick on stone andthud of earth on earth alone disturbs the peace of the prairie. An axe pried open the iron

door of the tomb, and Pat[riarch] Bush entered and started to dig. We dug in turn, each onrelief taking a turn on the road as guards.... Finally Pat[riarch] Ellery James turned up abridle, soon a saddle horn and rotten leathers followed, then wood and then, at the exactbottom of the small round hole, Pat[riarch] James dug deep and pried out the trophyitself.... We quickly closed the grave, shut the door and sped home to Pat[riarch] Mallon'sroom, where we cleaned the Bones. Pat[riarch] Mallon sat on the floor liberally applyingcarbolic acid. Bush's Own Bones

Among the traditional artifacts collected and maintained within the High Street Tomb are humanremains of various derivations. The following concerns one such set of Skull and Bones.

Geronimo, an Apache faction leader and warrior, led a party of warriors on a raid in 1876, afterApaches were moved to the San Carlos Reservation in Arizona territory. He led other raids against U.S.and Mexican forces well into the 1880s; he was captured and escaped many times.

Geronimo was finally interned at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He became a farmer and joined a Christiancongregation. He died at the age of 79 years in 1909, and was buried at Fort Sill. Three-quarters of acentury later, his tribesmen raised the question of getting their famous warrior reinterred back inArizona.

Ned Anderson was Tribal Chairman of the San Carlos Apache Tribe from 1978 to 1986. This is the

Around the fall of 1983, the leader of an Apache group in another section of Arizona said he wasinterested in having the remains of Geronimo returned to his tribe's custody. Taking up this idea,Anderson said that the remains properly belonged to his group as much as to the other Apaches. Aftermuch discussion, several Apache groups met at a kind of summit meeting held at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.The army authorities were not favorable to the meeting, and it only occurred through the interventionof the office of the Governor of Oklahoma.

As a result of this meeting, Ned Anderson was written up in the newspapers as an articulate Apacheactivist. Soon afterwards, in late 1983 or early 1984, a Skull and Bones member contacted Anderson

and leaked evidence that Geronimo's remains had long ago been pilfered--by Prescott Bush, George'sfather. The informant said that in May of 1918, Prescott Bush and five other officers at Fort Silldesecrated the grave of Geronimo. They took turns watching while they robbed the grave, taking itemsincluding a skull, some other bones, a horse bit and straps. These prizes were taken back to the Tomb,the home of the Skull and Bones Society at Yale in New Haven, Connecticut. They were put into adisplay case, which members and visitors could easily view upon entry to the building.

The informant provided Anderson with photographs of the stolen remains, and a copy of a Skull andBones log book in which the 1918 grave robbery had been recorded. The informant said that Skull andBones members used the pilfered remains in performing some of their Thursday and Sunday nightrituals, with Geronimo's skull sitting out on a table in front of them.

Outraged, Anderson traveled to New Haven. He did some investigation on the Yale campus and heldnumerous discussions, to learn what the Apaches would be up against when they took action, and whattype of action would be most fruitful.

Through an attorney, Ned Anderson asked the FBI to move into the case. The attorney conveyed to himthe Bureau's response: If he would turn over every scrap of evidence to the FBI, and completelyremove himself from the case, they would get involved. He rejected this bargain, since it did not seemlikely to lead toward recovery of Geronimo's remains.

One of America's great historical controversies intensifed yesterday withthe publication of fresh evidence that members of an elite secret societymay have dug up the remains of the Indian leader Geronimo and displayedhis skull in their headquarters.

Rumours that half a dozen members of the Skull & Bones society at YaleUniversity - including President George W Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush -dug up the grave of the legendary Apache leader during the First World War

have exercised historians for years.

"Bonesmen", as senior members of the society are known, and the Bush family have longrefused to comment on the claims.

The society, founded in 1832 and famous for its strange rituals centred on symbols of death,has over the years been accused of obtaining the skulls of a range of famous figures, includingthe former president Martin Van Buren and Che Guevara.

Its members include President Bush and his defeated rival in the last presidential election,Senator John Kerry.

Now contemporary evidence has been unearthed backing the theory that a group of youngBonesmen, based at an artillery school at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, desecrated Geronimo's grave.

The Apache leader had died while in custody at Fort Sill in 1909, 23 years after he finallysurrendered to US troops.

In a letter written in 1918, one society member tells another that Geronimo's skull had beenexhumed and was being kept in the "Tomb" - the society's headquarters in New Haven,Connecticut.

"The skull of the worthy Geronimo the Terrible, exhumed from its tomb at Fort Sill by yourclub... is now safe inside the T- [Tomb] together with his well-worn femurs, bit & saddle horn."

The letter was unearthed in Yale University archives by a historian writing about First WorldWar Yale pilots, and published in the Yale Alumni Magazine.

The letter names only one member of the alleged raiding party, a Charles Haffner, and makesno mention of Prescott Bush, who become a senator and is seen as the founder of the Bushpolitical dynasty.

He was first linked to the saga in 1986, 14 years after his death, when documents from thesociety's archives were leaked purportedly showing that six Bonesmen - identifiable by theirnicknames and including Prescott Bush - unearthed Geronimo's skull.

Some historians insist that the grave was never disturbed and that if there is a skull in theTomb it is not the Apache leader's.

David Miller, a history professor from Cameron University, Oklahoma, said that until 1920Geronimo's grave was unmarked. "My assumption is that they did dig up somebody at Fort Sill,"he told the Yale Alumni Magazine. "But it probably wasn't Geronimo."

But society members have long believed that they do have Geronimo's skull in theirheadquarters.

"Many talked about a skull in a glass case by the front door that they call Geronimo," AlexandraRobbins, the author of Secrets of the Tomb, an expos on the society, told the magazine.

Apache leaders seized on the news yesterday as further evidence that America's elite treatedIndian tribes as a subspecies into the 20th century.

"Who in the hell would do such a thing?" asked Raleigh Thomson, a former branch leader whohas campaigned to transfer Geronimo's remains to the tribe's Arizona reservation.

He told the Wall St Journal: "I guess it's the way my elders used to explain to me that white

people are."

SANTA FE, N.M. Legend has it that Yale University's secretive Skull and Bonessociety swiped the remains of American Indian leader Geronimo nearly a century agofrom an Army outpost in Oklahoma.

Now, Geronimo's great-grandson wants the remains returned.

Harlyn Geronimo, 59, of Mescalero, N.M., wants to prove the skull and bonespurportedly taken from a burial plot in Fort Sill, Okla., are indeed those of his great-grandfather. They are now said to be in a stone tomb that serves as the club'sheadquarters.

If they are proved to be those of the Apache warrior, his great-grandson wants themburied near the Indian leader's birthplace in southern New Mexico's Gila Wilderness.

He died as a prisoner of war, and he is still a prisoner of war because his remains werenot returned to his homeland, Mr. Geronimo said. Presently, we are looking for aproper consecrated burial.

Mr. Geronimo grew up hearing stories about his great-grandfather and other Apachewarriors who fought the Mexican and U.S. armies.

After their families were captured and sent to Florida, Geronimo and 35 warriorssurrendered to General Nelson Miles near the Arizona-New Mexico border in 1886.

Geronimo was eventually sent to Fort Sill, where he died of pneumonia in 1909.

If the bones at Yale are not those of his great-grandfather, Harlyn Geronimo believes theybelonged to one of the Apache prisoners who died at Fort Sill. He said they should still bereturned.

He wrote last year to U.S. President George W. Bush, seeking his help in recovering thebones. He thought that since the President's grandfather, Prescott Bush, was allegedly oneof those who helped steal the bones in 1918, Mr. Bush would want to help return them.

But, Harlyn Geronimo said, I haven't heard a word.

The White House did not respond to messages seeking comment.

Mr. Bush and his father, former president George H.W. Bush, both attended Yale andjoined the elite club. Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, the Democratic presidentialnominee in 2004, is also a Bonesman, as are many other men in powerful governmentand industry positions.

Members are sworn to secrecy one reason they will not say whether the club hasGeronimo's bones.

The reason there's all these conspiracy theories around Skull and Bones is because theirloyalty to one another goes beyond their public differences, historian and former YaleAlumni Magazine editor Marc Wortman said.

Skull and Bones is one of a dozen secret Yale societies, according to Yale spokeswomanGila Reinstein.

If it's true about the bones, that's disrespectful and disturbing, she said.

John Fryar, a retired Bureau of Indian Affairs special agent in antiquities recovery and amember of Acoma Pueblo, said if the secret society does have remains, they should be

returned to Fort Sill.

To ignore a request like this for the return of human remains is totally uncalled for.Look at our guys going to Vietnam to recover remains. It's the same thing, he said.

"On October 20, 1942, the US Alien Property Custodian, under the "Trading With the

Enemy Act," seized the shares of the Union Banking Corporation (UBC), of which

Prescott Bush was a director and shareholder. The largest shareholder was E. Roland

Harriman. (Bush was also the managing partner of Brown Brothers Harriman, a leading

Wall Street investment firm.)

"The UBC was established to send American capital to Germany to finance the

reorganization of its industry under the Nazis. Their leading German partner was the

Double Dutch?

The story of steel magnate and billionaire bankroller of the Nazis, Fritz Thyssen and his

Bush family connection is so incredible, that it deserves to be turned into a movie

(obviously not by Hollywood). It all starts with John Loftus, a former U.S.Department of

Justice Nazi War Crimes prosecutor who is the source of the following,

"From 1945 until 1949, one of the lengthiest and, it now appears, most futileinterrogations of a Nazi war crimes suspect began in the American Zone of Occupied

Germany. [The interrogation of] [m]ultibillionaire steel magnate Fritz Thyssen-the

man whose steel combine was the cold heart of the Nazi war machine."

the right question. Thyssen did not need any foreign bank accounts because his family

secretly owned an entire chain of banks. He did not have to transfer his Nazi assets at the

end of World War II, all he had to do was transfer the ownership documents - stocks,

bonds, deeds and trusts--from his bank in Berlin through his bank in Holland to his

American friends in New York City, Prescott Bush and Herbert Walker. Thyssen'spartners in crime were the father and father-in-law of a future President of the

"The British and American interrogators may have gravely underestimated Thyssen but

they nonetheless knew they were being lied to. Their suspicions focused on one Dutch

Bank in particular, the Bank voor Handel enScheepvaart, in Rotterdam. This bank did a

lot of business with the Thyssens over the years. In 1923, as a favor to him, the

Rotterdam bank loaned the money to build the very first Nazi party headquarters in

Munich.

"If the investigators realized that the US intelligence chief in postwar Germany, Allen

Dulles, was also the Rotterdam bank's lawyer, they might have asked some very

interesting questions. They did not know that Thyssen was Dulles' client [my emph.

WB] as well. Nor did they ever realize that it was Allen Dulles's other client, Baron

Kurt Von Schroeder who was the Nazi trustee for the Thyssen companies which

now claimed to be owned by the Dutch [my emph. WB]. The Rotterdam Bank was at

the heart of Dulles' cloaking scheme, and he guarded its secrets jealously.

"[T]he Dutch connection remained unexplored until 1994 when I published the book

"The Secret War Against the Jews." As a matter of historical curiosity, I mentioned that

Fritz Thyssen (and indirectly, the Nazi Party) had obtained their early financing from

Brown Brothers Harriman [my emph. WB], and its affiliate, the Union Banking

Corporation. Union Bank, in turn, was the Bush family's holding company for a number

of other entities, including the "Holland American Trading Company."

Remember that Union Banks' books and accounts were frozen by the U.S. Alien Property

Custodian in 1942 and not released back to the Bush family until 1951. At that time,

Union Bank shares representing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of industrial stocks

and bonds were unblocked for distribution. Did the Bush family really believe that such

enormous sums came from Dutch enterprises? One could sell tulip bulbs and wooden

shoes for centuries and not achieve those sums. A fortune this size could only have comefrom the Thyssen profits made from rearming the Third Reich, and then hidden, first

from the Nazi tax auditors, and then from the Allies."

Not content with digging up the ancestors, supporting Fascism,laundering Nazi money

through a Dutch-based bank, selling weapons to the mullahs of Iran, trading guns for

drugs, doing business deals with Osama bin Laden, the Bush family in the form of ol

granpa Prescott was an early supporter of the Eugenics movement (or racial purity, to

give it its real name). And a rather embarassing connection it is too, as Bush Snr

discovered,

"And the Birth Control League was there, which had long trumpeted the need for

eugenical births--fewer births for parents with "inferior" bloodlines. Prescott [Bushs]

partner Tighe was a Connecticut director of the league, and the Connecticut league'smedical advisor was eugenics advocate Dr. Winternitz of Yale Medical School.

Now in 1950, people who knew something about Prescott Bush knew that he had very

unsavory roots in the eugenics movement. There were then, just after the anti-Hitler war,

few open advocates of sterilization of "unfit" or "unnecessary" people. (That would be

revived later, with the help of General Draper and his friend George Bush

Then, very late in the 1950 senatorial campaign, Prescott Bush was publicly exposed for

being an activist in that section of the old fascist eugenics movement. Prescott Bush lost

the election by about 1,000 out of 862,000 votes

In his foreword to a population control propaganda book, George Bush wrote about that

1950 election: "My own first awareness of birth control as a public policy issue came

with a jolt in 1950 when my father was running for United States Senate in Connecticut.

Drew Pearson, on the Sunday before Election day, revealed that my father was involved

with Planned Parenthood.... Many political observers felt a sufficient number of voters

were swayed by his alleged contacts with the birth controllers to cost him the election...."

And in any case, the critical issue is not so much the individual goings-on of these neerdo wells, but that they are typical of a system, which since its foundation (one built onslavery, genocide, continental land theft and gangster capitalism) has utterly corruptinstitutions which it nevertheless claims make it the bastion of the free world! you thinking about exactly what kind of country it is you live in (if youre an American)and what kind of world is it thats dominated by a country with a media (not to mention alegal system) thats quite content not to challenge its president or his lying, thiefingfamily and their tenticular network of associations which includes: the Mafia, the ChineseCommunist Party, Japanese Triads, the Vatican, Central American drug smugglers and

gun runners, international arms dealers, the Ayotollah Khomeini (RIP), Cuban-Americanterrorists, money laundering, illegal arms sales, countless conflicts of interests, nepotism,coverups, tax avoidance, SEC fiddles and banking scams? A veritable school forscoundrels.

The fact that this litany of evil is effectively left unscrutinised and unquestioned by thedominant media, or, on the few occasions when it is mentioned, its only in passing,reveals the cynical, opportunistic attitude toward not only the concept of access toinformation, but acting on it. The system also makes a complete mockery of the so-called moral approach used by the leaders of the free world when they accuse others ofthe same behaviour. Is it any wonder that we have populations who have dropped out of

the political process. Where is the accountability? Where indeed?

Its a shell game

In recent years the problem has been excerbated by the gutting of the governmentthrough wholesale deregulation and privatisation, which has enabled those with theright connections to gain access to vast gobs of money in the form of subsidies andlucrative contracts (eg Marvin Bushs Ignite corporation, or the Kuwaiti Harken Oildeals, Choicepoints Homeland Security contracts and the software company it uses,Sybase Inc which has Bush family connections). The effect has been to turn various andsundry government agencies into hollow shells. Companies can then effectively writethemselves blank cheques or simply ignore the toothless edicts issued by the regulators

(eg the SEC over the Silverado S&L scandal).

Assault on Liberty

The assault on the rights of citizens, won at great cost and over generations of struggle,has since the 1970s, been steadily eroded to the point that we are now left with a faadeof the original, a cardboard mockup that has all the appearances democracy, civil rightsand so forth but virtually no substance. Our cynical leaders would have us believe that,

Satisfied or cynical? Or perhaps fatalistic about a system which has systematicallyencouraged its citizens to disenfranchise themselves?

Ultimately of course, it exposes the real nature of the political class and who it reallyserves the rich and powerful and their utter disdain for those without any real power.With elections being reduced to no more than tokenised democracy (only about a

quarter of the electorate actually bother to vote in US national elections and a fractionmore in the UK), its no surprise that firstly, there is no genuine representation of thepeople, for the people, by the people, but just as importantly, the total lack ofrepresentation or accountability encourages an arrogance and bravado on the part of thepower elite that they can get away with anything, because they we let them (and they do)!

The 4th Estate Absentee Landlords

A comparable process is at work in the 4th Estate who have reduced journalism (whenthey bother to actually cover the real stories) to another hollow shell, where the act ofmerely reporting is now considered sufficient to fulfill their obligations as watchdogs ofthe nations affairs. The thought of actually leading with a story, and pursuing it, dayafter day, until someone actually takes notice and says, enough is enough is simply notpermitted because the same corporations that own the media are also part and parcel ofthe same power elite thats busy ripping off the nation and holding the world to ransom.

Par for the Course

Forget Dynasty, although maybe they got the idea for the programme from the Bushposse. Staggering, is all I can say about the Bush family saga. Yet actually its par for thecourse as they say and not at all exceptional in the annals of the US power elite. Thehistory of US capitalism is made up of family dynasties of one kind or another, from therobber barons of the Du Ponts, Mellons, Morgans, Rockefellers, Carnegies andKennedys, through to the newcomers like Enron, Worldcom, Halliburton, Bechtel,Harken, Carlyle and so forth. And, like the landed aristocracies of England, they marryinto each others families, go to the same schools and universities, sit on each otherscorporate boards and invest in each others business dealings. Importantly, they watcheach others backs and for obvious reasons.

Arbusto Oil and the bin Laden Connection

Oh what a tangled Web we weave. Salem bin Laden, one of 57 children their fatherMohammed sired with his 12 wives, and Bush were founders of the Arbusto Energy oilcompany in Texas (I assume not with the 12 wives as well).

He died in a plane crash -- like his father -- but not before the Arbusto Energy OilCompany, founded in 1978, had become hugely successful. Later, Spectrum 7 Corpbought out Arbusto (now called Bush Exploration Co). In 1986, with the company on theverge of bankruptcy, it was purchased by Harken, and even though Bush Exploration Cohad debts of $3 million, Harken paid Bush $2 million for his stock.

John Ashcroft: Attorney General And Defender Of The Confederacy

As a senator from Missouri, John Ashcroft received generous campaign contributionsfrom companies, including Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Monsanto, which were based inhis home state. But a company didnt have to be from Missouri to get some attentionfrom the senator. Ashcroft was one of only a handful of senators sponsoring a bill thatextended the patent on Schering-Ploughs ultra-profitable allergy pill, Claritin. Extendingthe patent, which expires in 2002, would save the company billions of dollars in potentialrevenue. The bill died in committee, but Schering-Plough still gave Ashcroft $50,000 forhis failed 2000 Senate bid. Schering-Plough donated the money to Ashcrofts jointfundraising committee, which Ashcroft set up with the National Republican Senatorial

Committee to encourage unlimited soft money contributions from corporations that couldnot legally contribute to his main campaign committee. Besides Schering-Plough, Ashcrofts jointcommittee logged contributions from AT&T ($25,000) and Microsoft ($10,000).Microsoft, of course, is hoping the new attorney general drops the justice departmentsantitrust suit against the company."

Bath, was a Houston businessmanand old friend was also an investor in BCCI. Sheikh Bahksh emerged as a co-investor in the Bank of Commerce and

Carlyle Connection Theres no business like war business

There are so many connections between the Bushes, the Defence establishment, theglobal trade in arms, that the mind boggles. That it barely gets a mention in themainstream media (except of course, to simply report it) is a scandal of the grandestproportions. they have installed in both the US and the UK (after all, John Major is employed by theCarlyle Group and BAE Systems, the major arms supplier to the UK, is part-owned byCarlyle). Not only the connections beggar belief but the sheer hypocrisy of the Bushgovernment should put it in a new category in the Guinness Book of Records. As youllsee from just a few of the links to information on Carlyle below, their tentacles extend to

many of the armed conflicts going on in the world. Theres no business like war business!

Elliot Abrams

Unless you were around and following events in the 1980s, especially Central Americanaffairs and later, the Iran-contra scandal, you probably wont know who Elliot Abrams is.Mores the pity too. As Reagan's Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights andHumanitarian Affairs he used to oversee US foreign policy in Latin America, and wasactive in covering up some of the worst atrocities committed by the US-sponsoredContras. According to congressional records, under Abram's watch, the Contras "raped,tortured, and killed unarmed civilians, including children," and that "groups of civilians,including women and children, were burned, dismembered, blinded and beheaded."

His partners-in-crime include John Negroponte, the new ambassador to the UN, whoserved under Reagan as ambassador to Honduras from 1981-1985. He is known for hisrole in the cover up of human rights abuses by CIA trained paramilitaries throughout theregion. Coincidentally? Honduran exiles associated with the paramilitary forces that hadbeen living in the US, were exported to Canada prior to Negroponte's Senateconfirmation hearing, thus rendering their testimony unavailable.

Another partner from the good ol days is Otto Reich who has been appointed asAssistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs (which includes LatinAmerica). The Bush administration used a "recess appointment" during January 2002 to

side step the Senate confirmation hearing otherwise required of the appointment.Democrat opposition to Reich's nomination had been predicted.

But they are still up to their old tricks:

"The coup in Venezuela against Hugo Chavez sports the stickyfingerprints of all three men and the modus operandi of a long line of US-led cold war interventions.

But if these covert ops were tragedy, the Chavez plot was farce. The rapidunraveling of the coup suggested that the Venezuelan plotters would have

done better seeking advise from Supreme Court Justice Rehnquist ratherthan from Reich. It soon became public that Bush officials maintained aweb of connections with the conspirators and appeared to haveforeknowledge of the plot. Using the same conduit Reagan used to fundthe contras, the National Endowment for Democracy, the administrationhad funneled money to Venezuelan opposition.

According to British media, Abrams gave a nod to the plotters; OttoReich, a former ambassador to Venezuela, met repeatedly with PedroCarmona and other coup leaders. The day Carmona seized the presidency,Reich summoned ambassadors from Latin America and the Caribbean tohis office and endorsed the new government.

Abrams pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of withholdinginformation from Congress in 1991, for which George Bush seniorsubsequently pardoned him in December 1992."

Fresh Del Monte and IAT Group: Rotten Fruit? It just doesnt stop

Lets start with January 2003.

From the report below:

"The new year begs for a fresh start. But business accusations of international bribery,nefarious investors and a Bush brother awkwardly involved in a troubled company allhave a too-familiar ring.

Here's the latest Robert Ludlum-style financial spat.

. Marvin Bush, the brother of President Bush and Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, joined theboard of directors of Fresh Del Monte in 1998, after the alleged events took place.Marvin Bush was re-elected to the company's board this year for a term ending in 2005,and served on the board's critically important audit and compensation committees.

In October, Bush decided to resign from the board at the end of 2002. Without any publicnotice of Bush's planned departure by Fresh Del Monte, news of his pending resignationwas not reported until last month."

"This is an incredible deal, unbelievable for this small company," energy analyst CharlesStrain toldForbes magazine, describing the oil production sharing agreement the HarkenEnergy Corporation signed in January 1990 with Bahrain.

Under the terms of the deal, Harken was given the exclusive right to explore for gas and

oil off the shores of the Gulf island nation. If gas or oil were found in waters near two ofthe world's largest gas and oil fields, Harken would have exclusive marketing andtransportation rights for the energy resources. Truly an "incredible deal" for a companythat had never drilled an offshore well.

Strain failed to point out, however, the one fact that puts the Harken deal in focus:George Bush, Jr., the eldest son of George and Barbara Bush of 1600 PennsylvaniaAvenue, Washington, DC, is a member of Harken's board of directors, a consultant, and astockholder in the Texas-based company. In light of this connection, the deal makes moresense. The involvement of Junior-George Walker Bush's childhood nickname-withHarken is a walking conflict of interest. His relationship to President Bush, rather than

any business acumen, made him a valuable asset for Harken, the Republican Partybenefactors, Middle East oil sheikhs and covert operators who played a part in Harken'sBahrain deal.

In fact, Junior's track record as an oilman is pretty dismal. He began his career inMidland, Texas, in the mid-1970s when he founded Arbusto Energy, Inc. When oil pricesdropped in the early 1980s, Arbusto fell upon hard times. Junior was only rescued frombusiness failure when his company was purchased by Spectrum 7 Energy Corporation, asmall oil firm owned by William DeWitt and Mercer Reynolds. As part of the September1984 deal, Bush became Spectrum 7's president and was given a 13.6 percent share in thecompany's stock. Oil prices stayed low and within two years, Spectrum 7 was in trouble.

In the six months before Spectrum 7 was acquired by Harken in 1986, it had lost$400,000. In the buyout deal, George "Jr." and his partners were given more than $2million worth of Harken stock for the 180-well operation. Made a director and hired as a"consultant" to Harken, Junior received another $600,000 of Harken stock, and has beenpaid between $42,000 and $120,000 a year since 1986.

Junior's value to Harken soon became apparent when the company needed an infusion ofcash in the spring of 1987. Junior and other Harken officials met with Jackson Stephens,head of Stephens, Inc., a large investment bank in Little Rock, Arkansas (Stephens madea $100,000 contribution to the Reagan-Bush campaign in 1980 and gave another$100,000 to the Bush dinner committee in 1990.)

In 1987, Stephens made arrangements with Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) to provide$25 million to Harken in return for a stock interest in Harken. As part of the Stephens-brokered deal, Sheikh Abdullah Bakhsh, a Saudi real estate tycoon and financier, joinedHarken's board as a major investor. *5 Stephens, UBS, and Bakhsh each have ties to thescandal-ridden Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI).

It was Stephens who suggested in the late 1970s that BCCI purchase what became FirstAmerican Bankshares in Washington, D.C. BCCI later acquired First American'spredecessor, Financial General Bankshares. At the time of the Harken investment, UBSwas a joint-venture partner with BCCI in a bank in Geneva, Switzerland. Bakhsh hasbeen an investment partner in Saudi Arabia with Gaith Pharoan, identified by the U.S.

Federal Reserve Board as a "front man" for BCCI's secret acquisitions of U.S. banks.

Stephens, Inc. played a role in the Harken deal with Bahrain as well. Former Stephensbankers David and Mike Edwards contacted Michael Ameen, the former chief of MobilOil's Middle East operations, when Bahrain broke off 1989 talks with Amoco for a gasand oil exploration contract. The Edwardses recommended Harken for the job and urgedAmeen to get in touch with Bahrain, which he did.

"In the midst of Harken's talks with Bahrain, Ameen- simultaneously working as a StateDepartment consultant-briefed the incoming U.S. ambassador in Bahrain, CharlesHostler," the Wall Street Journalnoted, adding that Hostler, a San Diego real estate

investor, was a $100,000 contributor to the Republican Party. Hostler claimed he neverdiscussed Harken with the Bahrainis.

Harken lacked sufficient financing to explore off the coast of Bahrain so it brought inBass Enterprises Production Company of Fort Worth, Texas, as a partner. The Bassfamily contributed more than $200,000 to the Republican Party in the late 1980s andearly 1990s. *9 On June 22, 1990, George Jr. sold two-thirds of his Harken stock for$848,560-a cool 200 percent profit. The move was well timed. One week after Juniorsold his stock, Harken announced a $23.2 million loss in quarterly earnings and Harkenstock dropped sharply, losing 60 percent of its value over the next six months. On August2, 1990, Iraqi troops moved into Kuwait and 541,000 U.S. forces were deployed to the

Gulf.

"There is substantial evidence to suggest that Bush knew Harken was in dire straits in theweeks before he sold the $848,560 of Harken stock," asserted U.S. News & WorldReport. The magazine noted Harken appointed Junior to a "fairness committee" to studypossible economic restructuring of the company. Junior worked closely with financialadvisers from Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Company, who concluded "only drasticaction could save Harken."

George "Jr." also violated Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations whichrequire "insider" stock deals to be reported promptly, in Bush's case by July 10, 1990. Hedidn't file the stock sale with the SEC until the first week of March 1991.

Meanwhile, a cloak-and-dagger aura surrounds Junior's business dealings. James Bath, aTexas entrepreneur who invested $50,000 in Arbusto Energy, may be a business cutoutfor the CIA. Bath also acted as an investment "adviser" to Saudi Arabian oil sheikhs,linked to the outlaw BCCI, which also has ties to the CIA.

Bill White, a former Bath partner, claims that Bath has "national security" connections.White, a United States Naval Academy graduate and former fighter pilot, charges thatBath developed a network of off-shore companies to camouflage the movement of moneyand aircraft between Texas and the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia.

Alan Quasha, a Harken director and former chair of the company, is the son of attorneyWilliam Quasha, who defended figures in the Nugan Hand Bank scandal in Australia.Closed in 1980, Nugan Hand was not only tied to drug-money laundering and U.S.intelligence and mi- litary circles, but also to the CIA's covert backing for a"constitutional coup" in Australia that caused the fall of Prime Minister Gough Whitlam.

The Harken deal with Bahrain raises another troubling question: Did the Bahrainis andthe BCCI-linked Saudi oil sheikhs use the production sharing agreement with Harken tocurry favor with the Bush administration and influence U.S. policy in the Middle East?Talat Othman's sudden rise to prominence in Bush administration foreign policy circles isa case in point. Othman, who sits on the Harken board as Sheikh Bakhsh's representative,

didn't have access to President Bush before Harken's Bahrain agreement. "His name was added by the White House to a select list of 15 Arab-Americans chosen to meet with President Bush, [then White House Chief of Staff John]Sununu and National Security Adviser Brent Scowcroft in the White House two daysafter Iraq's August 1990 invasion of Kuwait."

"The Bush family connections go back to 1984 when Jeb Bush began a close associationwith Camilo Padreda, a former intelligence officer with the Batista dictatorshipoverthrown by Fidel Castro.

Jeb Bush was then the chairman of the Dade county Republican party and Padreda its

finance chairman. Padreda had earlier been indicted on a $500,000 (320,000)embezzlement charge along with a fellow exile, Hernandez Cartaya, but the charges weredropped, reportedly after the CIA stated that Cartaya had worked for them.

Padreda later pleaded guilty to defrauding the housing and urban developmentdepartment of millions of dollars during the 1980s.

The president's younger brother was also on the payroll in the 80s of the prominentCuban exile Miguel Recarey, who had earlier assisted the CIA in attempts to assassinatePresident Castro.

Recarey, who ran International Medical Centers (IMC), employed Jeb Bush as a realestate consultant and paid him a $75,000 fee for finding the company a new location,although the move never took place, which raised questions at the time. Jeb Bush did,however, lobby the Reagan/Bush administration vigorously and successfully on behalf ofRecarey and IMC. "I want to be very wealthy," Jeb Bush told the Miami News whenquestioned during that period.

In 1985, Jeb Bush acted as a conduit on behalf of supporters of the Nicaraguan contraswith his father, then the vice-president, and helped arrange for IMC to provide freemedical treatment for the contras.

Recarey was later charged with massive medicare fraud but fled the US before his trialand is now a fugitive.

Jeb Bush sealed his popularity with the Cuban exile community by acting as campaignmanager for another prominent Cuban-American, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, when she ransuccessfully for Congress.

George Bush Sr famously appeared with her during her campaign in Miami declaring: "Iam certain in my heart I will be the first American president to step foot on the soil of afree and independent Cuba."

She has since lobbied successfully for the release of several exiles convicted of terroristoffences held in US jails but who now live freely in Miami.

Most controversially, at the request of Jeb, Mr Bush Sr intervened to release theconvicted Cuban terrorist Orlando Bosch from prison and then granted him US residency.

According to the justice department in George Bush Sr's administration, Bosch hadparticipated in more than 30 terrorist acts. He was convicted of firing a rocket into a

Polish ship which was on passage to Cuba. He was also implicated in the 1976 blowing-up of a Cubana plane flying to Havana from Venezuela in which all 73 civilians on boardwere killed.

CIA memorandums strongly suggest, according to Bardach's book, that Bosch was one of

the conspirators, and quotes the then secretary of state, Henry Kissinger, as writing thatthe "US government had been planning to suggest Bosch's deportation before Cubanaairlines crash took place for his suspected involvement in other terrorist acts and violationof his parole".

Bosch's release, often referred to in the US media as a pardon, was the result of pressurebrought by hardline Cubans in Miami, with Jeb Bush serving as their point man. Boschnow lives in Miami and remains unrepentant about his militant activities, according toBardach.

In July this year, Jeb Bush nominated Raoul Cantero, the grandson of Batista, as a Florida

supreme court judge despite his lack of experience. Mr Cantero had previouslyrepresented Bosch and acted as his spokesman, once describing Bosch on Miami radio asa "great Cuban patriot"".

Who is Otto Reich? Well basically, he's a friend of terrorists, there's no other way todescribe him.

Who is Marvin P. Bush?

The public rarely sees Marvin P. Bush, brother of President Bush II.

Marvin P. Bush is the founder (1993) and Managing Partner of Winston Partners Groupof Vienna, Virginia. It's a private investment company. He is also the Managing General

Partner of Winston Growth Fund, LLP; Winston International Growth Fund, LP; WinstonSmall Cap Growth Fund, LP; all related companies.

Before this, he spent 12 years in the investment business with the firms of Mosley,Hallgarten, Estabrook and Weeden, Shearson Lehman Brothers, and John Stewart Darrel& Company.

In January, 1998, Marvin Bush was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Fresh DelMonte Produce company, the giant fruit company (major product bananas) that makes thecanned goods we buy in our markets. Del Monte is owned by a very wealthy family fromKuwait, the Abu-Ghazaleh family. Mohammed Abu-Ghazaleh is the CEO and he has

several family members on the Board alongside Marvin Bush. Another member of theFresh Del Monte Board of Directors is Stephen Way, who is a major Bush fundraiser.Way is the head of the Houston-based HCC Insurance Holdings Company. In early 2000,Stephen Way acquired the appointment of Marvin Bush to the Board of Directors ofHCC. In that transaction, Bush not only landed a very large salary, but a sweet stockoption deal. He purchased about $130,000 worth of HCC stock which is now valued atclose to $600,000, not even one year later.

Marvin Bush is also on the Board of Directors of something called the Kerrco Company.

Marvin also was named to the Board of Directors of the Stratesec Company, another

large publicly-traded firm. This company is very secretive and you can find virtuallynothing about it. Their website does not allow entry to several links unless one has apassword. Virginia-based Stratesec is a provider of high-tech security systems. Two ofthe major customers for which they provide security are the Dulles International Airportat Washington, D.C. and the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Stratesec's revenuesrecently went up by 60%, due to what the company describes as "new customers"Prominent people at Stratesec also include former Reagan operatives including BarryMcDaniel and Air Force General James A. Abrahamson (who was involved in the

Reagan "Star Wars" project). Stratesec is a company is heavily inter-related with theKuwam Corporation ("Kuw" = Kuwait; "am" = America). Kuwam is a major KuwaitiCompany into many, many activities including the aircraft business. Stratesec's ChiefExecutive is also the Managing Director of Kuwam Corporation and Kuwam's ChairmanMishal Yousef Saud Al Sabah sits on Stratesec's Board of Directors. Stratesec is

providing the primary security for one of the most sensitive airports in the world. Dullesin D.C., has a heavy middle eastern airline connection.

Harlyn says he has been getting calls from lawyers who want to help him sue the U.S.Government, which owns Fort Sill, Oklahoma where Geronimo's remains weresupposedly buried, then stolen by the Skull and Bones Society, of which Prescott Bush(grandfather to George W.) was a member. But while the story recently received national

play, Harlyn has been working on the repatriation from Ft. Sill of his great grandfather'sremains for about six months. An active member of the Mescalero Apache Tribal Counciluntil he retired five years ago, an artist and an actor who has played Geronimo senior inseveral documentaries, he was responsible for pushing for a memorial to the warrior inthe Gila Wilderness, New Mexico, supposedly Geronimo's birthplace. Harlyn says hewants to bring the bones there, too, to accompany a bronze sculpture and a memorial theApache leader.

There is doubt, of course, the Skull and Bones society did indeed steal the great warrior'sskull -- which is why Harlyn offered up his DNA. But Yale unearthed this letter, writtenin 1918 by Winter Mead '19 to F. Trubee Davison '18. Writes the magazine: It announces

that the remains dug up at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, by a group that included Charles C.Haffner Jr. '19 (a new member, or "Knight"), have been deposited in the society'sheadquarters (the "Tomb"): "The skull of the worthy Geronimo the Terrible, exhumedfrom its tomb at Fort Sill by your club & the K -- t [Knight] Haffner, is now safe insidethe T -- [Tomb] together with his well worn femurs[,] bit & saddle horn."

If Harlyn's DNA does match, "I would like the Bushes to look into this and return whatwas stolen," he says.

In the meantime, Harlyn says that Monday, when the Yale story broke in the nationalnews, he got about 150 phone calls from people who were concerned about thedesecration of Geronimo's grave -- some calls came from the general public, others camefrom those who claimed to be descendents. While he has not yet formally requested helpfrom the presidential family, he has called on Native American medicine people (he andhis wife Claudine are both medicine people) to gather for a prayer session to seekguidance on how best to proceed.
