The Union Oil/Santa Barbara oil spill occurred in January 1969. It was the largest oil spill in United States waters at the time, and now ranks third after the 2010 Deep water Horizon and 1989 Exxon Valdez spills. It remains the largest oil spill to have occurred in the waters off California.

•1968 – 1978 Involved in the clean up of over 40 major oil spills worldwide.

•1980 – 1995 Prepared oil spill contingency plans for:

• States of California and Washington in USA

• British Columbia, Canada

• National oil spill plans for seven countries Venezuela, Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, China and Egypt.

• Rewrote over 200 contingency plans for the state of Alaska after the Exxon Valdez oil spill in 1989.

• Assisted Saudi ARAMCO with oil spill response advise and equipment during Gulf War 1990.

ONE SKIMMER HEAD - For all types of oil. RBS TRITON™ technology combines the efficiency of the oleophilic brush and the versatility of weir skimmer. Virtually all typesof floating hydrocarbons can be recovered, from light to ultra viscous oils.

FLOATING HOSE – High reserve buoyancy, repairable in the field.

DURABILITY – Aqua-guard skimming systems have run continuously for hundreds of hours in oil spills as well as in industrial applications for thousands of hours. Robust and designed for the marine environment, the URO skimmer head is designed to withstand heavy impacts.

RECOVERY CAPACITY & EFFICIENCY - Tests have been performed to the ASTMF631 99 ‐“Standard Guide for Collecting Skimmer Performance Data in a Controlled Environment”, witnessed and certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV).

CUSTOMIZED DESIGN - To fit each customer’s specific needs. Aqua-Guard will customize any system to meet your unique technical requirements

DEPENDABILITY - Only robust, self-priming positive displacement lobe pumps are used in RBS TRITON™ URO. These pumps are built for extreme conditions and are used in continuous operation offshore and oil field applications. They have the ability to pump sludge, mud and particles up to ¾” in size. Each pump can be serviced and maintained in the field.

COMPACT – The skimmer head stays connected to the umbilical even while inside its 20 ft storage container. The entire system is stored in one container.

PERFORMANCE - Our chosen positive displacement pumps out-perform most centrifugal and Archimedean screw pumps used in similar applications. Discharge pressures run up to 180 psi.

SAFETY – Aqua-Guard designs all systems with safety as the number one priority.
