SUBJECT: SkillsUSA Kentucky State Conference Information and Registration Packet
The 2015 SkillsUSA Kentucky State Leadership Conference & Skills Championship is almost here and we are looking forward to celebrating VICA/SkillsUSA “50 Years of Champions at Work”. We are working to ensure another great KY SkillsUSA State Conference. It’s the 50 th birthday of VICA/SkillsUSA so come help us celebrate.
By attending the state conference, your students will experience the positive leadership learning activities one gains from competition. Your students will be exposed to business and industry personnel, have an opportunity to have on-site interviews, traveling, meeting new people, gaining new insights, and having a lot of fun. Do you do Karaoke?
The conference will provide a variety of opportunities for you, which include networking with other professionals, guest speakers and, above all, sharing the thrill of competitive events and the conference atmosphere with your students.
Not only will there be competitions, but students may campaign and be elected as a State Officer http://education.ky.gov/stuorg/Pages/SkillsUSA.aspx I encourage each school to have students participate as a senator or representative, this is the SkillsUSA KY Congress. Students can attend the conference in one of these roles without having won a local or regional competition. Please encourage your students to take advantage of one of these important SkillsUSA Kentucky roles. Delegates or Courtesy Corps members’ registration fee is $40 each instead of $80 for students in competitive contests. (All student attendees must be registered and participate in something.)
This information packet will assist you in registering for the 2015 State Conference. Please read it carefully and provide as many students as possible the opportunity to grow & be successful.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: All forms must be mailed to SkillsUSA KY State Office by March 23, 2015. CROWNE PLAZA RESERVATION/REGISTRATION MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE CROWNE PLAZA BY APRIL 1, 2015.
