Setting up the canvas

To set to the canvas I opened up Adobe InDesign and selected:

File>New>Document… Doing this opened up a

new dialogue box:

New Document

In this dialogue box I selected the ‘magazine page’ preset and InDesign configured the document accordingly.

After this I changed the number of column on the page from 1 to 3, as I wanted to experiment with using columns.

Formatting

After the text was down I used several tools with in InDesign to format my text with different font sizes, colours and typefaces.

Spacing

To spread the text out more I spread the text so it covered two columns instead of one.

I justified the text to make both edges of the text flush with the sides of the canvas.

I also used the ‘character’ toolbox to fine tune the spacing between each letters and between each line.
