How To… Have A Professional E-Mail Signature

Pull up your TTU e-mail
Click Options in the top right corner under your name
Click See All Options…
OUTLOOK
Under the Settings → Mail tab you willsee an area to type up your “E-mail Signature”
Type in the type of signature you wish to be on every message you send
Make sure the “automatically include signature” box is checked
CLICK SAVE!!! at the bottom right corner of the browser
RULES
Always include the same signature for professional consistency (does not include your salutation)
You must set up the signature on all your devices
According to a study, including your middle initial makes you look smarter (might as well… and this includes on a resume…)
Pick a generic but semi-formal salutation for all e-mails
INCLUDE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION
DO NOT use “unprofessional” fonts or colors

Look at what professors put for their salutations (use best judgment)
