for Ages 2-18

SKIESUnlimited General Information Registration
All youth enrolling in any SKIES programs MUST be current CYS Services
members. Participation in classes will be denied if registration is not current, with no
reimbursement for paid programs. There is no fee for enrollment, but this must be
updated every year (registration will expire after one year, and youth will be denied
access to the programs until registration is updated).
Application packets can be picked up from Parent Central Services at Clark Hall or
on the web at www.drummwr.com . Youth must carry their enrollment key FOBS
with them to sign in to and out of our programs. Youth in programs at the Youth
Center can sign themselves in and out of our programs – ALL OTHER students
must have their parents sign them in and out (School age and younger)!

Disenrollment
All youth MUST be disenrolled from each monthly program they are registered in
where charges are billed automatically. Charges do continue for each space
occupied until a disenrollment form is submitted, and parents will be responsible for
paying the bills. Programs needing disenrollment forms include gymnastics,
taekwondo, and may include others - please confirm at the time of registration.
Please submit forms to our office at 10790 Chapel Drive.
Payments...
Can be made at our office, any Child Care or Youth facility, or at Parent Central
Services. Ensure the staff make the payment toward your SKIES program bill.
If you are choosing to use the Army Family Covenant to pay for any of the
monthly billed SKIES programs, PLEASE contact our office after the 15th of
each month so we can ensure your payment is processed. AFC benefits will pay
out any one-time fees when enrollment is completed (up to the limit set). Parents
are responsible for any bills remaining after the benefits have been applied.
You can also do business with CYS Services on-line! Make appointments with
Parent Central Services, pay your outstanding balances, sign up for most of
the programs offered by SKIES, access registration forms, reprint receipts,
and print childcare statements for taxes. Simply go to www.drummwr.com &
click on the link near the top left side of the page. Visit or call Parent Central
Services if you need assistance or a login name and password (772-8675).

Programs………………
All About Theater $30 per month Ages 6 & up
Theater workshops are designed to help develop skills needed by all ages to per-
form on the stage. Each week students will utilize charades, karaoke, skits, and
vocal activities to develop their stage presence. Month-long program—can be
repeated as often as students like—each week will focus on different skills.
Theater group meets every Tuesday during the
months from 5:30-7 pm.
January 8, 15, 22 & 29
February 5, 12, 19 & 26
March 5, 12, 19 & 26
Registration deadline is the 28th of the current month for the next
month’s program. Held at the SKIES Classroom, 10790 Chapel Drive.
Glass Fusion Classes Grades 6 -12
Learn to use glass in a new way - how to safely cut, melt and use in artistic ways.
Classes will teach youth how to create new objects from glass as they learn to use
all the equipment safely. Classes are each one session, and can be taken multiple
times to continue learning and creating new craft pieces.
Class fee is $15, and covers supplies and instruction for the project.
Mondays - Time: 5:00-7:00 pm.
Register by Wednesday the week prior to class.
Projects will need to be fired in the kilns and will be available to pick up at a later
date. Class size is extremely small, so register early for a spot in class!
Pottery & Ceramics
Clay 101 – Open to students in grades K-12. Clay 101 is an introduction to clay
using hand-building techniques. Each student in any of the clay classes is required to
take this class to learn the very basics in using clay and all the machines in the pottery
area. Class fee is $5, and needs to be taken only once. Mondays - Time: 5:00-6:00 pm. Register by Wednesday the week prior to class.
Clay 201 – Open to students in grades 6-12. Introduction to clay using wheel throw-
ing. Students must have already taken Clay 101 and taken at least one hand-building
class. This class will teach students the basic techniques in using a pottery wheel.
Class fee is $5, and only needs to be taken once.
Mondays - Time: 6:00-7:00 pm. Register by Wednesday the week prior to class.
Clay - Hand-Building Classes (Clay 101 required upon enrollment in classes)
Classes will consist of an assortment of projects that make up the beginning stages of
hand-building with clay. Each class consists of construction of the project and glaz-
ing. Students will be able to take the piece home after it has been fired (students will
be notified when pieces are ready). Ceramic pieces completed by students will be
eligible for showing in local art exhibits.
Cost is $15 per class, and includes clay, glazing and firing. Registration deadline is
the Friday prior to the class date.
Grades K-5 - Tuesdays, 5:00-7:00 pm
Grades 6-12 - Wednesdays, 5:00-7:00 pm
Clay—Wheel Throwing Classes Grades 6-12 (Clay 101 and 201 is required upon enrollment in classes)
Classes will teach the fundamentals of clay wedging, wheel centering, and wheel
throwing. Students can register for consecutive sessions to continue to work on their
wheel skills. Students will be able to bring all work completed home after firing
(students will be notified when pieces are ready). Pottery pieces completed by stu-
dents will be eligible to show in local art exhibits.
February School Vacation Week - Tuesday through Friday, 12 noon - 4 pm,
Cost $60 per student;
Or Thursdays, March 7, 14, 21 & 28; 5-8 pm, Cost $50 per student.
Cost includes all supplies (clay, all glazing and firing). Students may register for both
sessions and will continue to learn and work with different projects. Clay – Open Studio
(Open to Grades 6-12 who have taken either Clay 101 or Clay 201).
Studio time is designed to give the student ample time to design, work on and
complete projects of their own design. Open Studio Time consists of 10 hours of use
of the pottery studio and equipment, 12 pounds of clay, all glazing, and firing for pro-
jects created. Students will receive a punch card, and have space in the studio for
their clay and projects underway. Cost for each card is $50.00, and is good for six
months from purchase. Students will also be able to purchase extra clay if they need
to (12 pound block for $10.00 or 25 pound block for $19.00) .
Open Studio — Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 3:00-7:00 pm.
Please call to let our staff know students will be in on a specific day.
Pick-N-Paint Ceramics $8 per class Ages 3-5
Select a piece of ceramics to paint and bring home after glazing. Parents must work
with their children during class.
Thursdays, Time: 2:30-3:30 pm.
January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31; February 7, 14, 21, 28;
March 7, 14, 21, 28.
Registration is per class and the deadlines are
one week prior to the class date.
Doodlebugs Art Program $25 per month Parent/Tot Ages 2-3
Doodlebugs is an art program designed for little artists that are just learning to draw,
color, glue and paint. Little artists (and their parent) will work with many different
mediums and learn about colors, shapes and how to use their creative energies.
Class times are either Tuesdays from 1-1:30 pm or from 1:45-2:15 pm.
January 8, 15, 22 & 29; February 5, 12, 19 & 26; March 5, 12, 19 & 26.
PeeWee Picasso $25 per month Preschool Ages 4-5
PeeWee Picasso is an art program aimed at teaching preschool aged students how to
continue to develop their ability to draw, paint, color and use scissors. Preschoolers
(and their parents) will have different projects each class and use a variety of medi-
ums as they continue to work with their creative energies.
Class times are either Wednesdays from 1-1:30 pm or
from 1:45-2:15 pm.

March 6, 13, 20 & 27.
Registration deadline for Doodlebugs
and PeeWee Picasso programs is the
28th of the current month for the next
month’s programs. One child/one parent per class.
PARENT MUST PARTICIPATE WITH THEIR CHILD IN BOTH DOODLE-
BUGS AND PEEWEE PICASSO PROGRAMS. There are no accommodations for
siblings, so please make other arrangements.
Handcraft Classes $50 for 12 week program Ages 6-18
Learn an assortment of Handcrafts in this 12 week program - students will learn
how to crochet, knit, embroider, work with plastic canvas, cross-stitch and also
many other handcraft techniques. Each week the students will either learn a new
craft or continue on a project that they have underway.
Wednesdays, 9 January - 27 March, Time 6-7 pm
Register by the 28th of the current month for the next
month’s program.
Program will be held at the SKIES Classrooms, 10790
Chapel Drive.
Music Classes
Teaching Our Toddlers (TOT) Music Ages 3-5
Toddlers and Preschoolers will be developing beginning music skill through songs,
dances and the use of beginner musical instruments.
Fees: Mondays, January & February $20 per month; Mondays, March $25.00
3 year olds - 10:00-10:30 am
4 year olds - 10:45-11:15 am
5 year olds - 11:30-12:00 noon.
Parents must remain in the classroom with their child. Accommodations for sib-
lings is not available, so please make other arrangements for them.
Register by the 28th of the current month for the next month’s program.
World Drumming Lessons Grades 5-12
Exploring the music of Latin America and Africa
through body percussion and different kinds of music
and instruments. No experience necessary.
Thursdays, 28 February - 25 April
(8 week program - no class on March 28th).
Time: 6:00-7:00 pm.
Fees: $60 per student for the 8 week session.
Register by 20 February or until filled.
Creative Movement Dance Classes $20 per month Ages 3-5
Dance classes for toddlers and preschoolers to teach the basics in beginning dance.
Students will work with music to develop their large motor skills, and work with
rhythm and beats. Tuesdays, Fee $20 per student per month.
3 year olds - 5:00-5:30 pm
4 year olds - 5:45-6:15 pm
5 year olds - 6:30-7:00 pm
Parents must remain in the facility during classes.
Register by the 28th of the current month for the next month’s
program.
Sharing Nature with Children $20 per month Preschool Ages 3-5
Sharing Nature with Children is an introductory nature
class for little students with an interest in the outdoors,
animals and nature. Each week students will learn
about some aspect of nature in ways that are fun and
creative. Parent participation is encouraged in this
program. Class time is Thursdays from 1-1:45 pm.
Registration deadline is the 28th of the current month
for the next month’s program.
Class is held at the SKIES Classroom, 10790 Chapel Drive.
Local Legends & Lore $15 per month Ages 6-12
Learn about all the local history in this Legends & Lore program. Students will learn
local history about battlefields, ghostly hauntings, unsolved crimes and other such lore
as Bigfoot and legendary creature sightings.
Class time is Wednesdays from 5-6 pm.
Registration deadline is the 28th of the current month for the next month’s program.
Class is held at the SKIES Classroom, 10790 Chapel Drive.
Programs with the McEwen Library... SKIESUnlimited will continue to work with the McEwen Library and offer great fun
programs! Look for another ―Creative Expressions‖ workshop, as well as other pro-
grams to help celebrate National Library Week in April.
Other upcoming activities include movie/book programs to celebrate ―The Hobbit‖
and other new books/movies, as well as our popular ―Harry Potter‖ programs.
Programs will be posted on the McEwen Library and SKIESUnlimited Facebook
page, as well as in the Library and at our facility.
Sewing Classes
Required Classes—Sewing 101 & 102 Sewing 101 - Hand Sewing Introduction $6 Ages 6 & up
Hand Sewing Skills (Required class for all other
sewing classes).
Hand sewing techniques are used at all levels of sew-
ing. Students learn basic stitches that they will use in
many of the sewing classes offered. Students will
make one project while learning the stitches.
Mondays from 5-6 pm; Register by the Wednesday
prior to each class.
Sewing 102 - Machine Introduction $6 Ages 6 & up
Machine Sewing (Required class for all other sewing classes).
Learn how to use the sewing machines we will be utilizing in all our Sewing
Classes. Students will be instructed on proper use of a machine, how to fix tension,
thread machines, roll bobbins, and set stitching features.
Mondays from 6-7 pm; Register by the Wednesday prior to each class.
Felt Sewing Classes $16 per month Ages 6-10 Felt foods, felt plants, and everything else possible that can be sewed into felt forms
make this class a fun experience with never-ending possibilities. Projects may con-
tinue over 2 classes, but many will be complete in one class.
Class is on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 pm.

Sew-Kool Sewing Club $35 per month Ages 6 & up
PREREQUISITE: Sewing 101 AND Sewing 102.
Enjoy a casual learning environment as we hand-sew, cut fabrics, make sewn crafts,
and use sewing machines. Students work at their pace on projects of their choos-
ing—staff are available to assist as needed. Some supplies may need to be pur-
chased by the students.
Classes are on Wednesdays each month, Time 5:30-7 pm.

Level 200 Classes are for Youth Ages 6 & up
Level 300 Classes for Youth Ages 12 & up
Sewing 202 Pennant Name Flag Feb 12 $12
Make a 3-flag streamer bearing your initials for a bedroom banner. Students learn
how to use iron-on appliqués and work with sewing fabrics inside out.
Sewing 203 Stuffed Animals Jan 8 or Feb 19 $15
Make a stuffed animal from patterns. Students will use machines to sew parts, learn
how to stuff, and hand sew edges closed.
Sewing 204 Doll Clothes (18” dolls) Jan 15 or March 12 $10
Learn how to make doll clothes for your American Girl doll or any other 18‖ tall
doll. Many patterns to choose from - students will learn how to machine and hand
stitch their own doll outfits and accessories.
Sewing 205 Book Tote Bag Jan 22 or March 26 $15
Learn to make canvas book totes for all your school needs and library books. Stu-
dents will use machines to make a sturdy open top tote bag.
Sewing 206 Pillow Cases Jan 29 or March 19 $10
Make a personalized pillow case using our AccuQuilt machine. Students will learn
how to cut with the AccuQuilt and iron-on handmade pillow cases.
Sewing 301 Reversible Tote Bags Feb 26 AND March 5 $25
Make a quilted reversible tote bag in this two-part class. Students will learn how to
make quilt blocks and turn them into a tote bag. Sewing 301 is a two session class.
Sewing 302 Lazy Pajama Pants Feb 5 $25
Make a pair of flannel lounge pants. Students will cut from a pattern and learn how
to finish inside seams.
Open Sewing Time For students who need a little more time to
finish projects…
The Sewing Room will be open on either Mon-
day or Wednesday nights for students who
need a little more time to finish a project they
started in another class.
Call our office to arrange time for each student
to come in and finish their work - students will
be supervised and assisted by a staff member in
the sewing room.
Kids in the Kitchen $35 - $40 per month Ages 7-12
Learn about nutrition and great
food combinations, new recipes,
fun snacks, measuring, and how
to cut and chop food safely.
AND, how to eat everything that
is made!
Fridays, 5:00-7:00 pm.
January 4, 11, 18 & 25
February 1, 8, 15, & 22
(Cost $ 35.00 per student)
March 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29

Babysitting & CPR/First Aid For Ages 12 & up
Babysitting and Red Cross CPR & First Aid will help
train youth to be responsible babysitters. Youth must
attend both sessions if complete certification is
sought, but may wish to attend just one piece if that is
what they need. No fee for this program.
Dates & Times:
Saturday 26 January - 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, AND
Saturday 2 February - 10:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Both classes will be held at the SKIES classroom,
10790 Chapel Drive.
Registration deadline is January 10th - Parents
must call if youth cannot make a class they are regis-
tered for - if youth do not show up for classes, they
will not be allowed to register again.
Martial Arts Program $70 per month Grades 1-12
Taekwondo classes from Tehonica’s Taekwondo & Hapkido Academy.
Classes meet twice a week - Tuesday & Thursday evenings.
Times: White Belts - 6:00-6:45 pm
Yellow Belts - 6:45-7:30 pm
Green, Blue, Red, Black Belts - 7:30-8:15 pm
Monthly fees are $70.00 per student and must be paid by the 1st of each month.
All classes are held at the Riva Ridge Center, 10799 N. Riva Ridge Loop.
Disenrollment forms are required for
withdrawal from this program.
Skiing and Snowboarding Lessons
5 week program Ages 7-18
Youth will learn how to ski or snowboard in lessons each
week. Program consists of four weeks of lessons (2
hours each week), and one night of open skiing.
Program will meet at Dry Hill Ski Area outside of Watertown, and parents will sign
their children into the program at Dry Hill. Parents must sign students out at the end
of each lesson. LIMITED transportation is available for youth who need to be
transported. These youth will meet at our facility - 10790 Chapel Drive - and return
to our center upon completion of the program.
Thursdays, 3-31 January (in the event of cancellations, the program will be
extended an additional Thursday)
Lessons - 6-8 pm each week - please be signed in at Dry Hill by 5:45 pm.
FEES for the 5 week program: (AFC deployment benefits can be used for lessons)
Ski Lessons without rentals - $145 per student
Ski Lessons WITH rentals - $165 per student
Snowboard Lessons without rentals - $145 per student
Snowboard Lessons WITH rentals - $165 per student
TRANSPORTATION: Depart facility at 5:15 pm; return at 9 pm.
$50 per student for 5 week program - LIMITED seats available.
AFC deployment benefits CANNOT be used for transportation.
Registration for lessons is 3 December - 2 January, or until filled at the
SKIESUnlimited facility, 10790 Chapel Drive, 12 noon until close each day.
Gymnastics and Tumbling All classes are MONTHLY. Youth must be enrolled each month if they
wish to continue with classes. Classes to fill quickly, so enroll early.
Gymminy Crickets $35 per month Ages 3-5
Parent/Tot class for ages 3-4. Parents will work with their children to help teach them
the fundamentals of tumbling while developing their coordination, strength, agility,
balance and self-confidence. Parents are required to work with their children on the
mats - please dress comfortably. There are no accommodations for siblings, so please
make other arrangements for them.
Enroll for a specific day and time each month.
Mondays - 5-5:30 pm OR 6-6:30 pm
Tuesdays - 1-1:30 pm, 1:30-2 pm OR 2-2:30 pm
Wednesdays - 12:30-1, 1-1:30 pm OR 6-6:30 pm
Gym Mites $35 per month Ages 4-5
Preschool program for ages 4-5. This class lays the groundwork for gymnastics pro-
gressions while introducing basic gymnastics skills on the floor and the balance beam.
Parent waiting area is available.

Mondays - 5:30-6 pm
Tuesdays - 2:30-3 pm, 3-3:30 pm, OR 3:30-4 pm
Wednesdays - 1:30-2 pm, 5-5:30 pm, OR 5:30-6 pm

Gymnastics $40 per month Ages 5 & up
Beginners Beginner gymnastics class for students entering into the sport.
Students will learn the basics in tumbling, vault, and balance
beam. Crickets and Mites entering the program will continue to
progress and work on strength and form.
Parent waiting area is available.

Wednesdays - 6:30-7:30 pm

Kids in Motion Playgroup $20 per month Ages 2 & 3 Designed for toddlers to help them with coordination,
motor development, following directions, and playing
with other children the same age. Toddlers will work
with their parents while taking part in activities that
utilize music, dance, athletic skills and tumbling. Par-
ents are required to work with their children on the
mats - please dress comfortably. There are no accom-
modations for siblings, so please make other
arrangements for them.

CYSS Teen & Sports Office Programs The Teen Center Programs have moved next door and now operate
out of 10788 Chapel Drive. Look in the Teen Center for our
programs aimed at the teen level.
The Sports Program will be moving into 10790 Chapel Drive very
soon. Sports programs are already taking place in the center, and
the offices will be moving here too.
