LUBRICATION
The engine is lubr ica ted by oilmixed with the fuel. The vehicle man-ufacturer's recommended fuel-oil ra-tio is 20:1 for all engines exceptLloyd, which uses a ratio of 40:1.Use regular gasoline and AMF Oil,SAE 30 or 40 non-detergent oil orOutboard Oil.
On Model 5810, sealed bearings areused on bogie wheels and track axles, and final drive chain is open type.Lubricate the chain occasionally withlight oil. On other models, lube fit-tings are used on bogie wheels andski spindles. The Sno-Scout and SuperScout are equipped with an oil bathfinal drive chain case and Cruiser 22with a forward-neutral-reverse chaindrive transmission.
On all models, lubricate variabledrive sheaves with light engine oilevery 25 hours. Lubricate grease fit-tings every 50 hours with low tem-perature grease.
On models with closed chain case, oil level in chain housing should bemaintained at approx imate ly 2 ^inches from bottom of housing; fillthrough access plug opening at topand measure oil level with a wire, working through access plug opening.Light engine oil is the recommendedlubricant.

ADJUSTMENT
STEERING SKIS. With handle barsin normal straight driving position, both skis should point straight aheadand center-to-center distance shouldbe the same at front and rear of skis.To adjust the length of any drag linkor tie rod, it is necessary to disconnectthe link at one end.

DRIVE CHAIN. The roller drivechain is not adjustable on Model 5810Power Sled nor Cruiser 22 with for-ward-neutral-reverse transmission. Onearly Sno-Scout and Super Scout, loosen the locknut and push bolt (5—Fig. 2) down in slot in chain housing(4) until it stops, then back up aboutiV-inch and tighten locknut.
On late models, the adjustment bolt(Fig. 4) is forward of bearing sup-port as shown, and bolt is pushed UPto tighten chain or DOWN to loosenchain. Chain housing cover is remov-able for inspecting chain, and about%-inch slack is recommended, mea-sured midway between sprockets.
DRIVE BELT. On ear ly models, the drive belt tension can be ad-justed by sliding engine in slottedmounting holes. On 1969 models ex-cept 5813, loosen the three bolts (A—Fig. 4) and locknut (C); then turnadjus t ing bolt (D) clockwise toloosen belt. NOTE: DO NOT loosenthe two bolts (B), The distance be-

tween shaft centers (Measur ingPoints) should be 10% inches. On lateModel 5813, refer to Fig. 5. To movethe chain housing to tighten or loosenbelt, loosen the two bolts (1) andthree bolts (2), then manually movethe housing until belt tension is cor-rect.
BRAKE. Model 5810 Power Sled andCruiser 22 are equipped with a cali-per type disc brake. Refer to Fig. 3.On models so equipped, remove thecotter pin and turn the castellated nutretaining ac tua t ing arm (A) untilpucks just clear the brake disc. Onmodels with shoe type brake, loosenthe nut (C—Fig. 6) nearest brake arm(2) and tighten the other nut untillining on brake arm (2) barely clears

Ski-Dootrack should clear center bogie wheelsby iy4 to 11^ inches. On 1967 and1968 models and 1969 Model 5813, dis-tance (A—Fig. 8) should measure3y4-3% inches.
NOTE: When track tension has beenadjusted, alignment MUST be checkedas outlined in the special TRACKSERVICE Section of this manual.
OVERHAUL
SKIS AND STEERING. Skis, skilegs (spindles), bushings and steeringarms are interchangeable from right
to left. Skis are equipped with renew-able wear bars which must be in-stalled with curved end to rear.
DRIVE TRAIN. On Model 5810Power Sled, the drive chain is in theopen and procedure for renewal isevident after shields are removed.
To remove the chain housing onSno-Scout and Super Scout, first re-move drive belt and disconnect brakecable at brake arm. Remove the se-curing U-Bolt and one bolt and nutfrom clamp strap, then swing the straparound out of the way. Remove the
