Pharmacy TechnicianCertificate
The best part of Skagit Valley College for me has been the faculty and staff. They listened, were quick to respond, and you can tell they really care. Small classes and personal interaction make a big difference. The job demand for highly skilled pharmacy technicians is high. Right after completing my unpaid internship, I was hired by a local healthcare organization. Now that I’ve graduated from Skagit, I hope to continue my education to become a pharmacist.
What I liked most about SVC’s Whidbey Island Campus is the flexibility it gives me in studying close to home. I began my college experience by attending a four-year university for two years, but I realized that I wasn’t ready for it. So, I came back to Skagit and I’m so happy I did! After earning my Associate in Arts in Business, I plan to earn a bachelor’s degree in business marketing. My ultimate goal is to work in business marketing in the music field.

Dania Jaramillo
Ken Estes
Dania Jaramillo describes herself in many ways: mother, daughter, sister, wife, first generation undocumented college student, Mexican, and activist. During her studies at SVC, Dania was a student in SVC’s Maestros Para el Pueblo program and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She also received the prestigious Charles H. Lewis Memorial Award at SVC’s Mount Vernon Campus Honors Reception. After graduating from SVC, Dania transferred to Western Washington University.
The best part about SVC for me was the people. I loved interacting with my fellow artists. We would meet up for art parties, hang out, and even do two-mile runs!
Before I left the military, I didn’t think I’d find the sense of camaraderie that I found at SVC. I’ve made some great friends! The teachers are fabulous! They support your vision, challenge you, and provide avenues to real-world success. I graduated from SVC with an Associate in Visual Arts degree and transferred to Western Washington University to pursue a Bachelor’s in Fine Art.
