The brief parting of the ways is to allow lead singer Nick Murphy and guitarist Richard Sampson to concentrate on individual pro- jects. And it sees the two swopping roles: Richard taking the front man's job with his own band, Iguana Brothers, and Nick tak- ing a back seat behind the drums with newcomers, The Dream Time. Nick was quick to quash rumours about the split being a permanent one. "We have always treated Ska- Boom as a bit of fun and we have always kept ourselves busy with other projects," he said. "It just so happens that things have started to happen for Richard and myself so we decided to take a break to con- centrate on our separate pro- jects." Nick's band will be playing their first gig in Leicester at the Princess Charlotte next Tuesday, while Richard is off to London for a show at the Rock Garden.
