Halloween is the one time of year when you get free candy from almost everyone in your neighborhood You go out with your family and friends to scare, have fun, joke around, and in some cases, toilet paper houses. All of these things are fun to do, and there are many more. But there are also some things that aren’t right to do on Halloween. Here’s some do’s and don’ts of Halloween. 1. Do give out good candy, Ex: KitKat, CRUNCH, Hersheys, Twix, Snickers, Milky Way, Butterfingers, and candy corn. 2. Do put out funny, scary, or cool Halloween decorations. Ex: A cauldron with a cat in it, or maybe a machine that has a motion sensor and comes to life when you walk by. 3. Don’t have a “take one” bowl. You’re sure to run out of candy right away with one of these. If you do have a bowl like that, be watching so that when a kid takes two, you can scare him half to death. 4. Don’t have your dog out so that it can attack the treaters. You’ll ge your house decorated with toilet paper or egged. You could find all of the candies and decorations at your local Walmart, Walgreens, Target, or Costco. Remember not to go trickortreating by yourself, and don’t take candy from strangers. I hope you use these tips and have a great Halloween! Scary Movie!!! By: Alex Von Haden BOOOO! Its October! That means Halloween is just around the corner and scary movies are too!!! Awesome Animals!

by: Jacob Le May

In this article we have some crazy and killer animals! First up we have the “King of the Jungle”,the lion! He is a serious animal that lives in Africa with lots of other hungry predators. Even with his sharp teeth and bad attitude, he has competition. A lion’s arch enemy is the well known hyena. I know you are thinking of “The Lion King” but no, hyenas are real predators with smart heads and a weird laugh. The lions are still the “King of the Jungle”, and still boss the hyenas around. Lions are smarter, stronger, and will never stop fighting. Lions are awesome animals and I hope it’s your favorite animal, but we have one more animal coming up!

Next up we have the salt water crocodile! The biggest of them all! The salt water croc is over twenty feet long, weighs more than two thousand two hundred pounds, has butcher knife sharp teeth, has a bite force as hard as three thousand seven hundred pounds and great body armor. It is one of the greatest and deadliest animals on the planet. It’s likebiting a grape when the salt water croc bites a super sized yellow fish in half. That’s our last animal! Hope you enjoyed!

World Series Preview By: Hunter Bertrand

The MLB (Major League Baseball) has had a good year. With the exceptions of the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, and New York Yankees. The MLB also had some good surprises such as the Milwaukee Brewers going 8280, Seattle Mariners going 8775, and the Kansas City Royals going 8973. The post season wild cards were Oakland Athletics, Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and San Francisco Giants. The post season Divisions winners were the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Detroit Tigers, Baltimore Orioles, and the Washington Nationals.

The MLB World Series will definitely have good games to watch with the Kansas City Royals and The San Francisco Giants both being pitching teams. The World Series will most likely be a low scoring game this year because the pitching rotations on both teams are very excellent. The Royals rotation is James Shields, then Yordano Ventura, next Jason Vargas, then Jeremy Guthrie, finally Danny Duffy. The Giants rotation is Madison Bumbgardner, then Tim Hudson, after him is Ryan Vogelsong, then Jake Peavy, and finally Yusmeiro Petit. The Royals lineup goes like this: Alcides Escobar, Norichika Aoki, Lorenzo Cain, Eric Hosmer, Billy Butler, Alex Gordon, Salvador Perez, Omar Infante, and Mike Moustakas. The San Fransisco Giants linup is: Gregor Blanco, Joe Panik, Buster Posey, Pablo Sandoval, Hunter Pence, Brandon Belt, Travis Ishikawa, Brandon Crawford, and then the pitcher.

The MLB World Series will definitely be a good one this year. Both the Giants and Royals have good pitching staffs and balanced lineups. Watch for last minute comebacks and close games. The World Series will be suspenseful, nerve racking, nail biting, and above all else exciting.

Candy! By: Mason McCallister

I don’t know a single soul who doesn’t like candy. Candy makers are tryingto rip people off. Before they had Mike & Ike, and now they just have Mike’s or Ike’s; so now you have to buy Mikes and Ike’s to have Mike and Ike’s. They're backtogether now.

What is the point of Halloween without candy? Just walk up to a stranger’s house and say trick or treat and leave? It would be pointless.

Here is a trick (and a treat). Put a marshmallow (or Peeps) in the microwave and set it for 5 to 10 seconds. Open the microwave and it has grown. Don’t set itin too long. I learned that the hard way.

I think people are making kids do all the work by going to houses and saying trick or treat. I think adults should just knock on people’s doors and give whoeveranswers the door candy.
