OBJECTIVE

This study pretends to size the optimal capacity of an EV Battery from an economic

and functional point of view, it will take into account the user’s behavior and technical

aspects together with the battery degradation.

MAIN TASKS

• Analyze trends in several measurements of EV Batteries and

obtain statistics about the percentage of use.

• Obtain lifetime statistical distributions of EV Batteries

depending on their initial capacity and the use given.

• Obtain lifetime statistical distributions of internal combustion

vehicles (common cars).

• Obtain statistical distributions of EV consumption depending

on the trip conditions.

• Develop an optimization model in order to find the optimal

battery capacity for EV taking into account the user’s comfort

and the degradation of EV Battery.

The results of the MSc thesis will be adapted to a scientific

paper for dissemination.
