2016 at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), India, organized and hosted jointly by Department of Civil
Engineering, IIT Bombay and Department of Structural Engineering, Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute
(VJTI) Mumbai, under the auspices of Indian Association for Computational Mechanics (IndACM).
The Indian Association for Computational Mechanics (IndACM) was founded on 1st January 2000 to further the
growth of Computational Mechanics in different disciplines. The first five International Congresses on Computa-
tional Mechanics were held under the aegis of IndACM at IIT Kanpur (2004), IIT Guwahati (2006), IIT Bombay
(2009), IIT Hyderabad (2012) and SERC Chennai (2014).
The aim of ICCMS2016 is to provide a forum for scientists, academicians, analysts, designers and practicing engi-
neers from around the globe to interact and exchange ideas and establish relationships from all areas of theoretical
and applied mechanics including theoretical, computational and experimental aspects, as well as theoretical model-
ling, methods of analysis and instrumentation besides setting directions for future growth. It includes basic disci-
pline-oriented as well as inter-disciplinary areas.
