It gives me great pride to introduce you to the Evelyn Grace Academy Sixth Form.We recognise that Sixth Form study is a period of profound transition between theworld of school and that of higher edu-cation, and transition between adolescence andearly adulthood.

We will equip our students with the skills, expertise and personal qualities necessary toapply with confidence to the top universities in the country and to take the next steptowards fulfilling careers and happy lives.

OUR CURRICULUM

The Evelyn Grace Academy Sixth Form curriculum is designedly aspirational - it providesyoung people with pathways to top universities and fulfilling, worthwhile careers.

The courses we offer are designed to challenge and to inspire. They will not be easy, butthey will afford young people the widest possible field of opportunity when they move onfrom secondary education.

We offer core A levels and a small number of respected BTEC courses at Evelyn GraceAcademy. These courses are clustered into three broad Faculties: Humanities, STEM (Science,Technology and Mathematics) and Business and Enterprise.

Students can select any combination of courses, subject to timetabling constraints. Studentsat Evelyn Grace Academy can also access a wider range of both academic and vocationalcourses through the ARK Sixth Form Consortium.

PASTORAL SUPPORT

Students at Evelyn Grace Academy Sixth Form will enjoygreater freedom that students in the rest of the academybut will benefit from the same high standard of pastoralsupport.

All students will be allocated a senior teacher as a LearningMen-tor, to work with them throughout their time in theSixth Form. This person will work closely with the studentand their family to ensure that all academic and personalgoals are met. This will sit alongside our tutorial system,which will help foster a sense of community andcomradeship in the Sixth Form.

Independent study is an essential part of Sixth Form successand this will be enabled through the provision of dedicatedtime in our Supervised Study zones.

ENRICHMENT AND LEADERSHIP

Becoming a confident adult requires more than simply academic success. Students at EvelynGrace Academy Sixth Form are encouraged to make a contribution to their widercommunity and to assume leadership positions in all walks of life.

Among the opportunities on offer are community work and volunteering; experience ofbusiness through our connections with leading international companies such as JPMorganChase; opportunities to visit partner schools internationally, for example in Zambia; andopportunities to participate in recognised youth leadership programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme.

UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS

Learning Mentors will provide students with practicalsupport for college admissions, including advising them onthe best choice of university to further their long-termambitions, preparing them for interviews, and drafting acompelling personal statement. Our bespoke programme ofsupport is designed to secure places at the best universities,including Oxford, Cambridge and the Russell Group.

EGA ADMISSIONSPROCEDURES

Offers of Sixth Form places will be conditional onattainment in national exams at the end of Key Stage 4.Successful applicants will have at least five good GCSEs(grades A*-C) including Maths and English. Individualcourses may require higher grades in those or relatedsubjects for admissions.

Students not meeting our general admission requirementswill be assessed on a case-by-case basis. All students willbe expected to attend a formal interview with a seniorteacher prior to taking up a place at the Academy.

Parents and carers are strongly encouraged to attendthose interviews.
